WIW: Scale Fail

I was excited to get on the scale this morning.

I got on and saw 194.0 – yay!

I went to go write it on my calendar and then came back to weigh myself again to double check. I saw a bunch of numbers flash and the the screen said “Lo.” I tried again and the same thing happened. Le sigh.

The plan to to buy a new battery (it had been like 3.5 years) and hopefully get a pre-wedding weekend weigh in recorded tomorrow!

I put faaaaar too many tack holes in my wall doing (and redoing, and redoing) this, but the result was worth it.

I strung the bibs together at the top with safety pins and tried to be semi intentional with some of the bib placement.

That’s 38 bibs for those of you counting at home.

Food Floorplan

I’ve been at my new place for 3 weeks and I’ve noticed that I haven’t been snacking hardly at all while home.

Granted I haven’t been home as much in these past 3 weeks and I’m in the throws of marathon training, BUT I had the thought last night that perhaps I’m not in the kitchen as much because now it is a floor away, as opposed to within eyeshot.

At my old place my kitchen was right outside my bedroom and also easily accessible from the living room (where I spent most of my non-sleeping home hours).

At my new place my master bedroom (which also has a couch/tv so it’s my downtown space too ) is on the 2nd floor. The kitchen is in the back of the townhouse on the ground floor so I’d have to “go out of my way” to go in there. Since I’m in a large townhouse with others I haven’t been spending much time in the “common areas.” The kitchen is now a place I go to cook or wash dishes. It’s a very different dynamic.

So yeah, I had this a-ha moment last night when I made my dinner brought it up stairs and when I finished I was still a little hungry, but I didn’t want to go downstairs to “fully fill” my stomach when I knew I ate plenty. Next thing I knew it was going to bed and hadn’t thought about getting more food to eat since it flashed through my mind two hours before.

I’ll be curious to see how my relationship with the kitchen goes at my new place..

Active Weekend

Tonight T and I are going indoor rock climbing since the Living Social deal I bought in March/April is about to expire.

Tomorrow is my 18 miler then we are going camping for the night. Considering how hard I’ve been sleeping lately I think I’ll be just fine sleeping in a tent.

Since we’ll be up in Harper’s Ferry for camping we may do something active Sunday too, we’ll see.

Mental Health Day

I called in sick to work today. I never do that and I’m also very rarely sick. Work has been stressful lately I top of moving and training which were/are exhausting. I needed to sleep in. I needed to not get up before the sun to run my 9 miles. I needed to accomplish some errands. And I really need to finish unpacking. I hate not being settled. I haven’t had a “free day” in weeeeeeks. Seriously I don’t know the last time I was traveling, packing, running, working etc. I wish I got more done today, but I’m happy to check off the things I was able to check off today.

WIW: Drop it like it’s hot edition

This week: 195.4

Last week: 196.8

Change: -1.4

Wow I can’t believe 2/3 into training and the weight is finally coming off.

I’m down almost 10 lbs total in 12 weeks! (Half of the weight has come off in the last month).

Usually in long distance race training I lose weight at the beginning of training and then just plateau so this is quite the change, but I’ll take it.

I’m faster thanks to the weather and to actually being lighter!

It’s less than 6 weeks to race day if I could be in the 180s, even 189.9 that would be amazing!
