I’m waiting in the Atlanta Airport for my (delayed) connection flight home following my work conference.
In San Antonio itself I did a pretty good job at make good choices and was purposeful and intentional with my indulgences.
Even my early morning flights to San Antonio weren’t bad because I knew I had yummy Texas food to look forward to so I stuck to fruit, yogurt, and a string cheese. (For the record I ate so much fruit this week in an effort to snack healthily).
But flying home has been tough. I was in an unfamiliar airport with only a few options and needed to eat breakfast. And now in Atlanta (where I used to fly in/out of a ton) I couldn’t resist Atlanta Bread. The California Avocado sandwich was always my airport go to. I knew it’d be bad so I told myself I’m not going to look for Atlanta Bread, but of course as soon as I get to Terminal C, there it is! So I look up California Avocado on the weight watchers app – 30 points!!! So I keep walking and my options aren’t much better.
So I walk back and see you can do a choose 2. So I got half a California Avocado sandwich and half of a house salad with just a baby drizzle of dressing and a banana. So it’s an 18pt travel lunch that I feel some shame over, but then I remember it’s not a 30 point lunch. I’m more mindful. I’d rather have 15 points on a sandwich that I really enjoy and never get then some 10 point plain lunch.
