And now less than 2 miles later I’m here #potomaclove

Airplane Guy
Quick update.
I’ve been busy getting settled, so busy I nearly forgot to contact Lucas aka the guy I met on my flight back in January. Well that’s not completely true. I wanted to text him after my first day of work, but that seemed too eager, so I decided to wait a few days, and then got so wrapped up in everything I didn’t think to text him.
So imagine my surprise when I get a text from him yesterday after work calling me out for moving up here and not getting in touch with him. It was sarcastic and I loved it. We ended up texting most of the evening. I’d love to have FIRM plans with him, we alluded to things, but I want him to make the move.
I like forgot how giddy he makes me.
Upon reflecting on Lucas via my journals last night – I realized that yesterday marked:
- 1 year since I ran the Talladega half marathon
- 6 months since Wiley and I officially broke up
- 5 months since Wiley told me about his new girlfriend
It’s crazy to read back on my journals and see where I was and now how far I’ve come. 2012 has been a great year thus far and I’m excited about what’s still ahead!

This week: 178.0
It’s been a few weeks since I weighed it – especially since my scale was packed/on a moving truck. I’m happy to basically be where I was pre-marathon. Especially since I’m still on a low mileage post-marathon running plan. I also haven’t established eating routines yet, but I hope next week I can create a “normal schedule” for myself.
160s I’m coming for you now – there’s no marathon in the immediate future to distract me from hunting you down!
I’m alive I swear!
Movers came yesterday! Found a great new place for my bibs!
Hopefully I’ll get internet at home this week, but I also may have a tiny bit of time to blog at work in the next few days.
I have so much to write about and I can’t wait to fill you in, love you guys!
1st day
Hello from Virginia!
Sorry I’ve been MIA – I had Auburn stuff to wrap up, LOTS of packing, and then driving to Virginia.
Today was my first day at George Mason and it was awesome!
I am staying with a friend until I get the keys to my place (hopefully Wednesday) and then the movers should deliver my stuff late this week/early next week.
I miss you guys and wish I had time to write a Marathon wrap up, but hopefully soon!

Holding strong in the 178s for weeks. I know with my previous races I’ve always gained, so I’m happy to see I’m maintaining at least.
Once I recover a bit more for the marathon and get settled in VA – I look forward to hitting the ground RUNNING/LIFTING/SPINNING/CRUNCHING!
Official Marathon Stats!
I am thrilled to be in the top half of finishers and placed really well in my gender division!
Even though tomorrow is my last day at work I felt the need to decorate my office door!
California Love
Waiting at the gate reflecting on my trip. Don’t get me wrong I wish it wasn’t SO COLD and rainy most of the trip, but other than that I really can’t complain.
I got to spend the trip with Kelly, one of my best friends who I don’t get to see enough.
Here are the quick highlights:
Wed: hung out all day at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.
Thurs: Went to the HIMYM set and WATCHED the cast filming a scene in MacLaurens. Met friends for dinner and drinks at USC and explored campus.
Fri: Awesome brunch on the beach in Malibu. Explored Pepperdine’s gorgeous campus. Race expo and bib pick up.
Sat: DAVID COOK LUNCHEON. Having great conversations with Dave – including telling him my marathon “story.” Getting pictures with him and he signed my race bib.
Sun: Great weather. RAN A MARATHON. Ate In-N-Out Burger.
Mon: Slept 12 hours. Feel sore, but not as bad as I thought.
I have a big week ahead of me, full of goodbyes, packing, driving, and starting a new job!
