I’ve been laying restless in bed for about 30 minutes thinking about my next race. I really want to do a 10K before a ½ marathon. I actually looked into 10Ks even before my 5K and found one in Atlanta on the 4th of July that would be perfect for so many reasons…except by the time I found the race all the registration spots were filled (we’re talking like 40,000). I was bummed and moved on.
I’ve has very little luck with finding other 10Ks nearby (I even checked in NY/CT when I’m home for my bday) and no luck.
I looked into some half marathons for the fall and saw a bunch labor day weekend and the weeks that follow. Well while looking for halfs I stumbled back across the 10K in Atlanta on July 4th and saw they are “auctioning” 100 spots for $150 a piece. At first I thought hell no that’s a lot of money that I don’t have. However laying in bed I was thinking about trying to find a July 10K in like Nashville or someplace that would require more driving than Atlanta and I’d need to get a hotel most likely (I have friends in Atlanta I could stay with). So here I am torn.
Thoughts? I need your opinions people.
