Getting Loved on…

One phrase that southerns say (especially my darling little southern sorority girls) is “love on.” Sample sentence: “I want to be an orientation leader and just love on all the freshmen.” I always find it to be an awkward, but cute sentiment. Well yesterday I have to say I was overwhelmed by all the “likes” and comments that had you all loving on me!

I just wanted to share myself with you guys, take down a silly wall between us. It honestly feels very liberating (yes still a tad scary, but I’ll stick with liberating). I didn’t post the vlog or my face to fish compliments, but I will certainly take them happily!

I should also note that Mr. 365 OF COURSE asked if he could post duel before and afters of us. I KNEW he would (I actually wasn’t sure if he’d ask or just post them, I’m glad he asked). I not ready yet to show my former pudge face – which honestly is a face I barely recgonize anymore, but soon my pets…soon. 😛

hello hottie 🙂

Week 3 Outfits.

I LOVE my Monday jacket. It’s so fun. I’ve had it for 2 years and I remember when I couldn’t even zip it. It fits well – even with room to spare. The collar is my favorite part, but I don’t wear it up unless I’m out and being silly!

My YELLOW jacket. I got this for my birthday in August 2009. I loved it as soon as I saw it, however picking the right size was troublesome. The “Large” was too small and my ego couldn’t handle buying an “1X” which was a little big on me. I ended up finding a “XL” and bought it which fit perfectly. It’s crazy to think how I’m now SWIMMING in this jacket. I actually hope to find a tailor and have it taken it because I love it and have only worn it a handful of times.

Today I went for a fun black and white look. I again remember buying this shirt when it couldn’t even button and I’d wear it open.

I really enjoyed having an excuse to dress up these past 3 weeks and wear tons of clothes than I had never/rarely worn!

**Special post coming later this afternoon**

WIW – Back on Track

  • Last week: 183.6
  • This week: 178.2
  • Change: -5.4
  • Total Lost: 44.4
  • Left to Lose: 10.2(GW)/23.2(UGW)

I am FOR REAL in the 170s. 2 weeks ago I was 179.8 and then had a major gain last week, but I’m back down and FIRMLY in the 170s!

I am 7 pounds from being within the NORMAL/HEALTHY BMI range.

44.4 pounds – I need to catch up on my weight loss reward for 40 lbs and think about to my 45 pound reward. eek!

Seriously guys my head is spinning with joy. Keep your eye out for a post from me later today for more reasons to celebrate!

My drag name for my halloween costume is…Ikea Wonderland

I was trying out my outfit and playing with some makeup last night and it hit me that my drag name should be IKEA – since it’s colors are blue and yellow and that’s what I wearing. I also have some of the reuseable bags from Ikea that say IKEA on the straps and I’m going to make wrist cufffs and maybe a choker out of them.

I went with Wonderland as a last name because it’s playful and because the dress is kinda of “Alice in Wonderland”-esque.

I’m too freaking excited!

Also this means I really need to show my REAL face on here soon if I’m going to share my drag makeup with you guys. EEEK.

Hello Doctor…

So in the next few weeks I have a new goal for myself. To go to the doctor.

I HATE doctors. Dread them. Get extremely worked up.

As I reflect on my hatred I think a lot of it stems from always being overweight and having the doctor tell you all these things about your body and blood and insides that you would rather ignore. Still I don’t think anybody likes to be poked and prodded, plus I hate the smell of doctors offices.

However I went for my body composition/cholesterol assessment last week, got great results and it was a positive experience.

It’s been a while since I’ve gone to get a physical or to the lady doctor and I think it’s time. I want to make sure I’m in good health and can take on full marathon training. My body means too much to me as a tool/instrument these days and I owe to myself to go to the doctor.

I’m thinking of making an appointment for the 2nd or 3rd week of Novemeber – Please keep me accountable!

Halloween

So I commited to the Halloween costume that I have joked about for a few months.

A DRAG QUEEN

I am 100% woman I assure you, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE OVER THE TOP MAKEUP. What better way can I show off my love of false eyelashes, glitter and bold eye makeup?!?! I was just youtubing “how to cover your eyebrows.” Let me tell you those queens are fierce!

I may dust on some “5 o’clock shadow” for authenticity and I have an un-used jock strap that I got as an award once (I was a good “supporter” – oh student affairs), but I don’t know if I can commit to a jock strap.

Next year I can be slutty mcslutterson if I chose, but this year I wanted to be kinda slutty, but still poke fun at myself. Pus I’m going to be in New Orleans which is going to be insane. I am going to poll people on the streests of New Orleans ask them if they think I’m really a guy or a girl – should be hilarious. Especially if dudes are into me.

I bought some GIANT hooker shoes that are going to make me 6’3 EASILY  – somehow I am going to walk in them (and walk in them AFTER running a half marathon…yeesh). I have this blue and yellow themed look  – I need to come up with a drag name. SUGGESTIONS?

Full Marathon Plans – For Real

You can blame tumblr for eating my post and I didn’t get to fix it before I left for more interviews.

So my 2nd half marathon is this Saturday which got me thinking I need to start looking ahead. Having something to train for has been a KEY factor in my success. I have decided my next challenge to take on is a full marathon and wait until spring and warmer weather to train for a triathlon. With that being said I am seriously considering running the Los Angeles Marathon on March 20, 2011.

Some of the reasoning for this is:

  • I will have plenty of time to train and be ready
  • The weather should be favorable in LA in late March
  • If I’m still working here – it would fall on the tail end of spring break so I could take time to be in LA a few days prior to the race.
  • I’d get to visit a good friend of mine who is a writer for How I Met Your Mother. Last year I toured the set and he gave me an open invitation to come back for a filming and maybe even get to be an extra!
  • Finally my UGW date is March 21, 2011 the first day of spring and what a great way to celebrate my “rebirth.”

There are a number of factors to consider – like if I will still be in my current job in March. However I really think all of these things other factors are quite serendipitous. I also feel like if I got a new job between now and then I would mention I have a registered for a full marathon and would hope folks would be understanding. However if I plan to do this, I want to register sooner rather than later so spots don’t fill up and so I can’t back out 😛

PS – also David Cook (who won American Idol in ‘08 and is my future husband) lives in LA and he really got me motivated to run my first 5K – he has run Race4Hope the past 2 years in DC to raise $ for brain cancer awareness….he lost his brother to brain cancer the day before the race in 2009. So I kinda want to like get to his “people” and share my success story and maybe have him cheer me on…is that lame? I’m lame.

Interview outfits from last week!

Last week was crazy busy, but I’d like to think that I made it look good despite my cold and hectic schedule!
