Month: November 2012
Sunday, November 18, 2007 – it feels like yesterday, but also like 20 years ago. I miss you every single day Daddy…
Threw my name in the lottery for the inaugural Nike Women’s Half Marathon in DC on April 28.
It’d be cool to run it for the Tiffany’s necklace, but if I don’t get in I won’t be heartbroken either since I keep saying I want a break from training. However I’ll do a half at some point in 2013 because 13.1 in ‘13 would be cool!
Last night I played in the first annual University100 Peer Advisor-Faculty Charity basketball game!
I haven’t played basketball since summer 2011, but I had a blast. Considering I supervise the faculty and supervise the Peer Advisors’ supervisor I was able to pretty much go into the game confident that no was was going to throw a ‘bow into my post wisdom teeth surgery face.
Due to recovery I did not play as fiercely as I usually do, but I was still a beast on defense. I was setting picks left and right, grabbed more a few rebounds, etc. We had 8 faculty play against 15 Peer Advisors and had about 75 students come out to watch (and bring at least 1 canned good item each).
In the end the Peer Advisors won 42-38, but it was a really a great game. I’m already looking forward to next year and it made me eager to buy another basketball so I can play more.
Wisdom Teeth Diet
My appetite has been weak since surgery and I have not been eating my usual fare. I have had more carbs and sugary things (pudding, ice cream, choc milk, mashed potatoes) than usual however I have lost some weight.
Today: 181.8
My weight has been all over from 181-185 the past month. I want to get focused and stay strong through the holiday season so I can really hit the ground running (or lifting all the things) come January!
NYC Fitblrs Par-Tay
It seems like all my NYC fitblrs have been hanging out like whoa lately and I want to join in on the fun. I’ll be at Casa de Mom on Strong Island next Wed-Sun and then I will be back Dec 22/23-Jan 1
Let me know the deal. I can also get an email chain going with the usual suspects (Ellen, Jocelyn, Jess, Carrie…)
Quick 3
1. I’m at work eating baby food at my desk – BANANA – don’t judge me, damn teeth
2. My post wisdom teeth surgery diet has make me constipated for the first time in my life. It’s horrible, I’ll leave it at that. I have new found sympathy for my sister who deals with that regularly.
3. I just joined a competitive division cornhole social league that starts in January. We need a name. Who has a funny suggestion – that has nothing to do with constipation please…too soon?
Chipmunk Cheeks
My face is hella swollen today from my wisdom teeth surgery, especially my right side. I look like Eddie Murphy in meet the Klumps.
It’s weird how my self esteem dropped and it’s literally upsetting to look at my face.
Josh took me to lunch to get out of the house. I had a scarf wrapped around my face because I felt so hideous, but he was sweet about it mostly haha. It was nice to see him and get of the house, plus he got a free lunch as a veteran which was pretty cool and it was nice to honor him.
Amnesia
So on 3 different occasions this week I’ve told people when I get my wisdom teeth out I’m getting amnesia, when I meant to say anesthesia!
Surgery is in 1 hour.
Thanks for all the messages earlier this week I am stocked up on: applesauce, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, ice cream, pudding, soup, protein shakes and BANANA BABY FOOD (a personal favorite of my sister and me until we were in like middle school)
