Just registered for the inaugural “Finish on the 50” Half Marathon in my old stomping grounds of Auburn, AL.

Last year was the first “Finish on the 50” running festival with a 10K/5K/1M fun run (as you can see from the 2012 pic posted).

I’ve been looking for a spring half and also have a few reasons to get down to Auburn (friends having babies, favorite students graduating) plus it’s only $50 for the half. So it’s PERFECT!

The race starts at our infamous Toomers Oaks at Toomers Corner (before they are removed due to their 2009 poisoning by a crazy Alabama fan which has slowly killed them) and then the race ends on the 50 yard line of the Auburn Football stadium.

Shout out to Kateo for sharing her plans to run it on her blog thus leading me to look up flights and schedules and pricing.

Thanks for your perspective – the shift helped give me some clarity.

I am going to abstain from sweets during lent. I too easily have allowed myself to eat a cookie or a munchkin here and there as a “treat” however in my heart of hearts I know my treats have become tooooo regular.

I think a 40 day challenge will be good for me and help me stay focused and regain the willpower towards sweets that I once had!

Additionally I am going to work on holding a plank for more than a minute with a goal of doing it 20 times in the next 40 days. If I surpass that great, but I also want to set an attainable goal because I know where my plank challenge missteps were last year.

Iron Mason

Reason #61 Why I love working on a college campus…opportunities like this!

Iron Mason

February 9 – May 4
Iron Mason is a Mason Recreation incentive program that encourages members to step up their physical activity during the semester. It is not a race. The distances can be completed quickly or over a period of time. As long as you complete your miles between February 9 and May 4 you have met the challenge. Participants, run (or walk), swim (or row) and bike their way to the finish. Start by completing the Olympic Mason distance. Then if you want to keep going, tally your miles until you complete the Ultimate Mason.

Each participant will receive his or her own log sheet that will be submitted every two weeks. We encourage all participants to complete the distances at their own pace. So, come out to the recreational facilities to have some fun while we Iron Mason our way to better health.

The Northeast is buried under snow meanwhile today in DC I have my 2 mile Cupid Sprint race on a trail in Georgetown on a bright sunny 38 degree day.

I’m excited for an automatic PR for a 2 mile race, but I have my secret goal time.

Stay safe and warm Northeast friends!

Boy Crazy

Had a promising first date last night – but wasn’t feeling it

Have a 4th date with M tonight – I haven’t seen him in nearly 2 weeks, but we’ve talked everyday so I’m curious what tonight will bring

Just got a voicemail from the guy I casually dated this past fall who is overseas for 18 months saying: we haven’t communicated enough I demand an email….i miss you….Afghanistan needs a woman like you, I need a woman like you

Oy

I am BY NO MEANS a fashion blogger. However on the radio show I listen to every morning (Elvis Duran and the Morning Show) they have been talking about these Closet Classics lists. I just checked them out and agreed with a lot it. However due to weight loss (and still not being where I want to be size wise yet) my wardrobe is more limited than I’d like it to be. I hope to use these lists to make some INTENTIONAL purchases this year and I thought some of you would make good use out of these lists too!
