Tough Runner

I realized last night when I came home from work and put on all my running gear for a 17 degree run on icy sidewalks that running has really made me fearless.

Yes I could get pneumonia or slip and fall, but I could do that being outside period. So I went out for my 3 miler and I ran.

It didn’t seem as cold or a slippery as I feared, but maybe it was I don’t know. I was in the zone.

I read a research article once a few years ago that said distance runners have notably higher pain thresholds. So maybe it WAS freaking cold, but I had a higher tolerance (and the right gear).

Tomorrow I have 8 miles to tackle in similarly cold and icy conditions, but after last night’s run all I have to say is BRING IT ON!
