Make it work

Since I need to get my tire (tube) most likely replaced (thanks CB) I decided to go to the gym to use a stationary bike to get some miles in. I was working from home today so I went to the gym by me in Arlington like right at 5pm. Lots of DC bro hotties working out. Good to know!

Summer Sports

I just registered for my Summer Sand Volleyball League that plays on Thursdays by the Lincoln Memorial and starts in mid-July.

At this end of this month I’m playing on a Kickball League for the first time which plays on Wednesdays by Gravelly Point Park (next to where the planes at Reagan take off and land).

When I’m not doing those league (which only overlap 1 week), I hope to get to free sunset yoga on Tues/Thurs at the National Harbor (this will be my 3rd summer) and get to some Lagers and Joggers runs on Mondays at Port City Brewery co-sponsored by Pacers.

My pool opens Memorial day weekend which means I can get my swimming game together for the sprint triathlon. However on Friday I discovered my bike’s front time is flat and won’t stay filled. So I’m hoping to get that replaced this week. Behind on Tri training already and it only just “started."

Weekend Run Down

THURSDAY

  • Started my 3 day weekend at 5:15pm
  • Planned to get an Insanity workout in before my massage, but insane NoVA traffic had other plans
  • Delightful massage with my living social deal
  • Went to CVS to spent some of my FSA $$

FRIDAY

  • Slept in a bit until the lawn guys woke me at 9:30
  • Insanity work out
  • Went to FINALLY take my bike out, but discovered a flat tire. however I had a pump and figured out out to pump it. Got excited to head out, take bike outside to discover tire is flat again. Huff
  • Errands
  • Sister arrives later than expected because she missed her bus by like 2 minutes
  • Head out in Old Town, Alexandria VA instead of DC
  • Bounce around to bars, meet up with a friend, wind up at the SKETCH karaoke bar that I’ve been to once before and have a blast.

SATURDAY

  • Sister and I walked/strolled ~2 miles each way to brunch – at a hole in the wall I had be wanting to try. YUM.
  • Shopping – including nearby Outlets, I made some great purchases
  • Went to Trader Joes for some snacks to enjoy while watching the planes land/take off at Gravelly Point Park
  • Headed up to U street for Ethiopian at a yum place and I got to use another expiring living social deal
  • Hung out at a rooftop bar and chatted with a few gentlemen, including one I texted with all day yesterday…
  • Stayed out until 3am aka took the last metro train home

SUNDAY

  • Went to bed at 4am and was up by 9am to get my sister to Union Station for her bus
  • Went to church
  • Laid around watching the DVR and did laundry
  • Did insanity
  • Went to a Korean BBQ place with my roommate and her friend that was super tasty
  • Watched Frozen (my first time) with my roommate and I really liked it, despite not having seen a Disney animated in YEARS.

Solid weekend. And now this week is finals week for the kiddos, I’m looking forward to some quiet for a month until the academic cycle starts again in late June with new student orientation (but at least I’m not in charge of it anymore).

TBT from my first week as a “fitblr” back in 2010.

May 11th marks my tumblr’s 4th official birthday. However I did start my weight loss and blogging via blogspot in January 2010, but transitioned over in May when I learned about the community from my friend Billy (Mr365).
