On the Run

Ragnar is THIS Friday. I’m excited, but at the same time don’t feel ready on a number of levels. We had a team dinner on Monday that most of us were at which was nice since I only knew 1 person on the team. The team has a ton of multi-year veterans and 2 first timers. Due to some last minute runner changes I’m back in Van 1 (which I was in last year) in the #4 position. I’m a little bummed about being in Van 1 again, but the only person I know on the team is the Van 1 captain so it makes sense for me to be in that one. I’m leg #4 which is 4.5 miles, 5.2 miles, and 4.5 miles (Any advice from what you remember VeggieLife?)

Work has been so busy and the weather have been wonky so I have not gotten in a ton of runs since my Sprint Tri on 8/24. Yesterday after work I went out for 4-5 miles and ended up banging out just over 5. Considering I was dragging through 2 sweaty miles on Friday, I feel really good about yesterday’s run. My legs and body can do this. It’s all mental at this point. I just don’t want to be the slowest runner on my team/don’t want to be disappointed in my performance.

I’m hoping to get another run in after work today and then rest Thursday before ~30 hours of Ragnar funsies Friday-Saturday.
