When your teacher friend is so excited that she’s included you and your running on a test…but she kinda got it wrong. See #19. But I’m flattered to be famous in high school science class!

#howfaristhismarathon?

Leslie sent me this gem via text today and I told it belonged on tumblr for you all to enjoy. Non running friends are so cute when they try to be supportive.

Monies

I got my new running shoes yesterday and dropped $135 without blinking!

Meanwhile on Monday I bought my first TV ever (others were gifts or my roommates) and it PAINED ME to fork over the $235 for it.

I only wanted to pay $200, but I essentially got it for $100 less thanks to a Labor Day sale, a 10% off discount code and T’s $5 Best Buy rewards. For the record it’s a Toshiba 40′ LED Flatscreen 1080p (whatever that means, T insisted I not get a 720p).

Boom! Thank you combination of 2 back to back weekends of moving and helping people move on top of kicking into high gear for the last 6 weeks of marathon training!

Burning Daylight

With the days getting shorter I am still in disbelief that my out of shape self powered through late June, July and August marathon training and I came out better on the other side because of it!

I’m ready for these fall miles. Harder. Better. Faster. Stronger.

Lose yourself in the moment…

I ran an Eminem this morning AKA 8 mile(s).

It was a great run:

  • weather was nice (maybe a touch humid)
  • my pace was great (averaged 12:35 min/mi)
  • I felt confident
  • thanks to my 5:50am (ewwwww) wake up call I finished with enough time to shower, get ready, make breakfast, and get to work on time!

Bonus: I’m headed to the beach after work today!

Knowing your limits

I set my alarm for 5:45am today to run 8 miles before work, but when my alarm went off I couldn’t even imagine getting out of bed, let alone running. I didn’t even get home last night until after 9pm because Freddie had a 6:30pm grooming appt (his hair girl lives 20 miles from me, but Freddie loves her).

This has been an exhausting week of packing, moving, cleaning, unpacking, school year starting up on top digging deep into marathon training.

I’m planning to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight and run these 8 miles tomorrow morning. Then right after work tomorrow I’m headed to Fenwick Island, DE for 2 days at the beach with T and his family who have been there all week.
