DUB-ble digits

Tomorrow will be my first double digit run since the Dublin Marathon.

10 miles!

I forgot how much I enjoy running in the winter (sans snow). My pace has been great. Last night I knocked out 6 miles with an 11:13 min/mi average pace (2 of those miles were 10:30s).

Getting stoked for my ½ in March and I’m even thinking about the Brooklyn Half in May…

Ragnot

I was supposed to be in Miami today for Ragnar Florida Keys which was supposed to start tomorrow morning. Still super bummed it was cancelled (and all the surrounding drama). Even more bummed that I didn’t get quality van time with @94monkeys!

Butt Hurt

My tush hurts from RPM last night despite wearing my ancient padded bike shorts. However it was great to be back on a bike and little booty pain never killed anyone.

Yoga will be a nice relief at lunch today.

Feeling the beat

Made it to my first RPM (spin) class in AAAAGES. Even when I was a Golds member in 2012-2014 I wasn’t going much to RPM. The last year I lived in Alabama I was obsessed with RPM, well really the instructor Mitch (who I still adore). It was my go to cross training while marathon training for LA. I’ve struggled with finding good instructors or good fits for me. Tonight I made it to my old Golds location by work and really liked the instructor. I’m hoping to get to class the next few weeks while my Wednesdays are open.

WIW & Monthly Measurements

2 weeks ago: 195.2

Today: My scale read both 194.8 and 195.2 (I did see 192.6 on Friday).

I’m honestly not taking stock in ANYTHING this scale says because it’s been so inconsistent. My new Fitbit Scale should be here between now and the 17th. Fingers crossed it will be here for next week’s WIW.

Monthly Measurements

  • Smallest Waist 38.5 – 35.5 (-3.0)
  • Belly Button: 43.5 – 42.75 (-0.75)
  • Hips (under belly): 44 – 43.5 (-0.5)
  • Neck: 13 – 13 (0)
  • Mid Upper Arm: 11.5 – 11.25 (-0.25)

Excited to see some fantastic MEASUREABLE changes, most notably in my waist and thighs.

Small adjustments

I have to say cutting back to running only 3x a week after running 4x a week for marathon training (and most training plans) has been delightful. I don’t feel so much pressure to screw my schedule around to find time to run on a day of decent temperatures (or milage I won’t hate on a treadmill). I actually am finding myself looking FORWARD to running after 2 or 3 days off.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have 1-2 full blown rest days a week, but I’ve really been hitting fitness classes hard at my gym the past 5 weeks since I rejoined. I am trying to get to classes 2-3x a week and some days it’s for back to back classes. Like last night was 60 min of Body Pump and then 30min of CRX which is an ab workout.

And yoga. My job offers excellent free yoga 2x a week during lunch and since it started 2 years ago I’ve made an effort to go at least 1x week, but now I’m committed to going 2x a week unless I literally can’t make it. These days are like “bonus workouts” because it’s during the workday and I don’t need to shower (I just bring a change of clothes). Work also started offered a Pilates/Barre fusion class. This class is on Tuesdays which is harder on my schedule, but I can make it next week and I’m excited to try it out.

Just pulled the trigger on the Fitbit Aria scale.

E-bay has been my go-to place lately and I found an E-Bay shop selling them for $89.95 with free shipping. I really like all the stats and I like how it syncs with my Fitbit app. Plus I’ve been very happy with my previous Fitbit products. Stay tuned!
