Two dinners from T made with love this weekend. All before the cooking class I signed us up for next month!
Month: February 2016
My #oristand is here! Checking out the standing desk trend without a big commitment! Folds up flat when I’m not using it.

AM Workout
Woke up a regular time today despite working adjusted hours (11-7 because I’m going to the Kathy Griffin show on campus that starts at 8). It made no sense to try and go home and back between regular work and the show. Then I thought about running between regular workday and the show and that’s just too much of a sweaty mess. So my schedule was open enough to work a flex scheduled today.
Woke up regular time jumped on my new scale then headed to the gym to pound out 7 miles. I’m getting better with longer distances on the treadmill. I’ve found if I’m listening to a podcast or my beloved Elvis Duran & The Morning Show that I can stand the treadmill more. However if I’m running outside I want music.
Also went to lunchtime yoga at work today despite it not really being my lunch time since I’m working an adjusted scheduled.
Got my Fitbit Aria scale yesterday – she’s beautiful.
Today was my first weigh in.
Goal weight is 169, which would put me at a “healthy” 24/25 BMI (despite it not being a science). I’d also like to drop down to ~27% body fat which would have me on the “ideal/average” border.
As a reminder I’m 5′9.5 (the .5 is accurate and makes a difference – it’s annoying most charts only have only numbers {also annoying how most shoe companies stoping making ½ sizes after 10 – I fit a 10.5 perfectly. 11s are too big and I usually need to stretch out 10s}). #tallgirlprobs

No weigh in today BUT my Fitbit Aria scale got delivered this afternoon! So I will weigh in tomorrow!
40 days and 40 nights
This year for Lent (raised Catholic, but currently elsewhere on the Christian spectrum however I’ve always liked the concept of giving up or taking on a 40 day challenge) I am giving up going on social media on my phone in bed.
It has been an ugly habit of mine for too long. Getting lost in Instagram blackholes and the like. I’ll be in bed ready to sleep then screw around on my phone for an hour. Plus in the morning before getting out of bed I will check all my social media. It’s an unnecessary time suck.
T really wanted me to give up social media altogether for Lent, but that is too extreme. I try to use social media for good: keeping up with friends, sharing out important/funny/noteworthy things, getting inspired/motivated.
Here’s hoping for more sleep, less screen staring time, and hopefully the ability to kick the social media in bed habit for good.
Trying to make today a NOT SO FAT Tuesday.
Still thinking about giving something up for 40 days or a 40 day challenge of sorts.
Your replies are on the way, Tumblr
Just wanted to let you know that we’re putting the finishing touches on replies, and making sure they play nicely with everything else on this platform.
“Why did they go away? Why, staff, whyyyy?” Fair question. We had a gaggle of overlapping message-like systems—namely, asks, fan mail, reblogging with commentary, question posts (rare!), and, yes, replies. When we finally introduced actual instant messaging a couple months ago, we had a lot of untangling to do.
In order to make all these systems work together, we had to do some back-end retooling, which meant taking down replies for a bit. For longer than we expected. Sorry about that.
And we get it—replies fill a very particular need (and you were very clear about expressing that need). They’re a kind of super like. A way to fully express your feelings about a thing without expecting anything in response. A gift.
When they come back, they’ll be even better. People will be able to reply to your posts multiple times, and you’ll even be able to reply to your own posts. Simple changes, yes, but ones that open up lots of possibilities.
Best of all, we’ve laid the down the engineering and design groundwork for even more substantial improvements down the road. Replies will be able to develop side-by-side with messaging.
More to come, soon enough. We know you all miss replies. We hope you enjoy their imminent return.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Praise big baby Jesus!
5 day forecast
