Fridge of Fame!
My race bibs…thus far.
I was inspired by a friend of mine who keeps all her bibs in her kitchen as a reminder of where she’s been and how far she’s come. It really is a great way to help me make good decisions in the kitchen!
Due to all my travel/conference craziness I forgot to show you guys my new ‘do. I have some major blonde streaks and my entire underneath layer at the nape of my neck is blonde too. It’s very fun!
Between the hair and my thinner body everyone at the conference keeps telling me how fantastic I look!
**I should probably mention I usually only see these folks at the annual conference and I’ve come a looooong way since last November.**
Life as a Lion!
4 miles in 40 degree weather
The crisp weather is glorious! I was chilly for all of two minutes.
2 New States to Run in…
I am currently in St. Louis for a work conference an have a FANTASTIC view of the arch from my room. Tomorrow I plan on running around the arch, along the riverfront, and also crossing the Mississippi River to run in Illinois. I’m hoping for a 6 mile run, but It may take more to cross into Illinois we shall see. So pumped and the weather is crisp as could be!
I added a “states I’ve run in” page to my tumblr. I’m excited about continuing to add to this list!
Prayers for the Auburn Family
A long time Auburn University faculty member and newly appointed Dean of the college of science and mathematics was killed early this morning by a vehicle while running. Another runner was also hit and seriously injured.
Details are still scare, but she was running exactly where I run. Very scary.

Full Marathon Training
Is it weird that I always refer to a marathon as a “Full Marathon”, but I also think it’s weird when people ask me about how my “marathon” went (I want to be like it was ONLY a half, but then I realize it wasn’t ONLY anything and I need to remember not everyone is as crazy as we are).
Anyway. Full marathon training kicks off in less that 2 weeks. I’m going with Hal Higdon’s Novice 2 training plan. It’s 18 weeks, but I’m giving myself 21 weeks in case of unforeseen circumstances and holiday travel/drama etc.
My preference is to run the Los Angeles Marathon (3/20), with a back up plan of the National Marathon in DC (3/26). I have friends in both places and the marathons are a week apart. Since I don’t know where my life and job will be in 5 months I’m hesitant to register for either. Suggestions on how “close I can cut it” without it being sold out? Are there any rules of thumb?
As we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same.
WIW – Thursday Edition
Since I totally forgot to weight myself yesterday, mainly because I slept in a little too long and was running late I weighed in today.
- Last Week: 178.2
- This Week: 179.8
- Change: +1.6
Somehow I always gain after races. Maybe it’s because for most of my races have been while I was away on a weekend getaway OR really I plan weekend getaway round races. Regardless I don’t get to keep up with my habits and sometimes local fare is too tempting.
