You have to wonder at times what you’re doing out there. Over the years, I’ve given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.

Steve Prefontaine

Went on a 9.25 mile run today in some of my new running clothes.

For those of you that aren’t wearing legit running clothes and doing distance running you REALLY should. My clothes completely change my run. I used to be a tshirt and yoga pant type of girl, but now I’m dri fit tanks and compression shorts.

CAUGHT UP

After a very taxing week back after my vacation I finally took today at work to catch up on 270 PAGES of tumblr dashboard. We are all certainly a chatty bunch aren’t we????

I must say seeing everyone’s ups and downs coupled with reminding myself what a supportive group you all are was just the kick in the ass I needed. My working out was lax while home and this week I was just so tired, but today it’s off to the gym to knock out 6 miles and work my legs. I’m back on track and I’m going to be better than ever!

I have to say I am HATING this damn heat and humidity – all I want to do is run outside, but I literally would die, like skin melt off and burst in flames a la Godric on True Blood. So I’m confined to the indoors at the moment. I’m hoping for a break in this heat wave VERY soon.

Also while I was on vacation – I had 18 Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffees Iced Coffees and 0 sodas!!!

I am really going to try and not drink soda – I did have 1 ½ this week – 1 because I NEEDED the caffeine and the other one I don’t even think I drank half I had a few sips, but dumped it because I didn’t even want it. I’ve sold my soul to green tea and crystal light.

***Also HELLO New Followers – I must say I’m suprised to see you since I’ve been rather quiet the past 2 weeks, but I’m glad to have you! I will def be checking out your tumblrs soon***

#Fail

I didn’t pack my gym clothes last night because I was exhausted.
I packed my gym clothes up a lunch while home.
I left my gym clothes in the car accidentally.
I was going to change at the gym instead of my office like I usually do because I was parked far.
I secretly hope my clothes aren’t in the car because I have a pounding headache and am still exhausted from a non-relaxing vacation.
My clothes are in the car and I drive to the gym.
I sit in the car and realize my head hurts too much and I’m so stressed about work and unpacking and fixing my tv and internet that are on the fritz.
I haven’t done something like this in ages, but I need to get my head back on track before I can get my body on track.
I’m mad about my decision, but I need a breather before 2 insane days at work, even though the past two days have been crazy in their own regard.

The Art of Crossing Your Legs

Ever since I’ve lost weight I have been crossing my legs differently,

more “lady like”

and with minimal effort.

I have loooooong legs -like need to buy “tall pants” – and crossing my legs has always been awkward thanks to the combo of being overweight and having long legs. My default crossed legs were more of the “guy cross” with my ankle over my knee. Well over the past few weeks I’ve noticed my default leg cross has been the “lady” cross of knee on knee/upper thigh.  I really think the lady cross verses the guy cross requires more effort? muscle?SOMETHING and I now possess whatever that is.  It’s funny I’m sitting here right now at my desk at work with my legs crossed ladystyle under my desk and I don’t ever recall doing that before recently. I would do the guy cross. So interesting.
