I’m on a roll this week, first talking about my boobs and now I’m gonna talk about my underwear.

So now two days in a row I wore boy shorts style underwear to the gym. I love boy shorts they are probably my favorite kind of underwear to wear, EXCEPT when working out. Boy shorts and me running don’t mix…I end up with like mega wedgies. And yes I’m the girl who picks her wedgies at the gym….I DON’T CARE…I’d rather be comfortable running then care about someone else thinks. Regardless I hate getting wedgies when running. My gym undies of choice are bikini briefs.

How about the rest of you. Do you work out in boy shorts, briefs, thongs, none?

This week I have 24 miles including an 8 miler this weekend

She runs, runs, runs, ruuuuuuns

7 miles and 1,068 burned calories later I feel pretty good. However 7 miles on a treadmill was no fun. I may try and switch up my running schedule next week so I can run 8 miles outside.

I’m looking into changing my running course, however I don’t have many options near me – damn south and lack of sidewalks. I contemplating driving more “into town” and doing my 8 miles from a point there.

A question for my outdoor “long distance runners” (well for me 8 miles is long), do you run from you house and do you mileage or do you drive somewhere as your starting point?

Dear Summer,

You are seriously effing with my running schedule. I have to run 7 miles today, but it is about 1000 degrees outside and I really don’t want to pass out and die. So I’m going to the gym to run. YUCK. I can only do about 4 miles at the gym before I bored. I’m going to have to do my 7 miles this week and 8 miles next sunday at the gym. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. However 7 miles will be the furtherest I’ve ever run which is exciting!

P.S. peeked at the scale today and all my gained 4th of July holiday weight went bye-bye, so I’m pumped about this week’s WIW.

What did you do before 7am?

I ran 5 miles in 57 minutes!

That is miraculous because I went to bed at 1am after working a 12 hour day and woke up at 6am. Now I am working an 18 hour orientation day. I am so glad I did this run, I was stressed because I didn’t do it yesterday so I switched rest and 5mi days so I am on track.

I’m very appreciative that my boss let me come in 45 minutes late so I could get my run in. He knows how hard I’ve been working along with the rest of my coworkers. It’s all very encouraging. Another colleague across campus saw on facebook that I ran a 10K and he called me a “serious runner.” I never thought of myself that way, but I am taking my running very seriously.

AM Run

I’m in the midst of working our 7th of 8 freshmen orientation sessions which are all consuming. This morning I planned on running before I had to go to work, but at 8am it was like heat-stroke hot. I thought about trying to go to the gym to run, but it’s 15 minutes across town and I didn’t think I’d have enough time to run the 5 miles I need to run. So I decided I am going to wake up insanely early tomorrow and run the 5 miles before work. So that means I’ll have a 14 hour work day today ending around midnight, wake up at 5:30am to run and then work all day until about midnight again tomorrow. It’s ugly, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Now I’m debating running at the gym, or run my usual outdoor route, or run the morning parent run with an extra 2 miles thrown to make 5 miles. Wish me luck and let’s hope I don’t exhaust myself to tears tomorrow.

Perfect Run

Today’s 10K was GLORIOUS.

I felt great, temperature was in the 70s with overcast skies, and I was ready to go.

My goal time was 1:15:00

My ULTIMATE goal time was 1:09:00

My unofficial times thanks to the ipod stopwatch was 1:09:10.

HOLLER!

I felt so great the whole run. It was the 5K loop twice which I liked. We ran over 2 different bridges and there were more hills than I would have liked, but I pushed through.

I felt so strong and powerful.

My friend Sara ran her first 5k today and high fived me as I crossed the finish line and got it on video.

After we finished there was a beer truck which was pretty glorious. It overall was a very laid back race VERY different than my 5K.

Seriously though finish lines I’m addicted to you. Bring on the half marathon in 2 months. Also I’m ready to turn 27 a month from today…I swear I’m like a fine wine I, I only get better with age.

I’m sure I’ll write more about the 10K at a later and date and include some pictures, but I wanted keep you all in the loop.

Thanks for all of your love and support!

Nighty Night

It’s 11pm I’m headed to bed after a successful day of water drinking and eating well. I did have 1 glass of wine, but it was free and I turned down like 20 other glasses of wine today (of course the ONE day I’m not drinking is when Nashville wants to like give wine away).

10K tomorrow morning 7am CST. I’m stoked.

Wish me luck!

xoxo
