Running gets me wet

This is about running in the rain.

Sorry about the title, I couldn’t help myself. I still have the sense of humor of a 14 year old boy at times.

I ran 3 miles in the rain with my friend Audra tonight, then we toweled off and did level 2 of shred. My level of wetness between rain and sweat is a new record!

I have 6 miles tomorrow. 3-6-3 my Tues-Wed-Thurs for the next 2 months.

Weekend in Review

I’ve been having writers block lately for some reason, hopefully it won’t last too long! So here is my weekend in bullet points.

  • Ate and drank pretty very well.
  • Went on 2 different dates – one was hilariously tragic, the other was a 3rd date with a guy that I’m still on the fence about.
  • Ran a 10K race (that was only 6 miles – boo) in under an hour.
  • Went to a fabulous show choir performance at the university.
  • Caught up on tivo and laundry.
  • Applied for an awesome job and prepped for an upcoming phone interview.

Free Half Marathon

I got an e-mail from the Columbus Running Club, I guess from when I registered for my Soldier Half Marathon I got on their list. I was looking through their upcoming races and they have a FREE HALF MARATHON.

It’s a certified and timed course. Getting a shirt is a option (for $). I’m assuming there are no medals since it’s free, but I’ve been hoping to get in a half as a training run in January and this seems too good to pass up!

Cold & Fast

I’m in week 3 of marathon training!!

Today called for 3 miles and I decided to do speedwork at the track with my new running buddy.

I did 2 warm up laps then intervals of speed laps and walking laps. It was COLD, COLD, COLD out. I thought my speed laps were going to be ugly, but I was plesantly surprised. My first one was 1:59.2 and then my second lap was 1:54.8. The next 2 were 1:55ish each. Apparently I can run faster in the cold! I wrapped up with speed running the straight aways and walking the curves of the track for my laps 2 laps

Look at my stat’s from my week at home last week!

Got all my scheduled training runs in PLUS a 3 mile leisure walk by the beach and tons of other walking as transportation!

I’m still scurrrrred about my WIW tomorrow, but I’m pleased with my mileage.

Racing my heart out!

My 2011 Race Calendar has been spotty, but it looks like I’ll be finishing the year off strong. Yesterday I signed up for a 10K. I ran this 10K last year and ran it in the illusive sub 59 min range!

8 mile

Yesterday was when marathon training was supposed to officially start. However I had to work super late and I didn’t want to run past 9pm. So I woke up early today to run yesterday’s 3 miles before work and then ran today’s 5 miles after work.

I feel good. Tomorrow is a rest day because I have a second date with the gentleman from Sunday night.

The Awkward Runner

(It’s just for kicks and giggles— better to be running funny than sitting on the couch 😉

I like to think I”m a combination of all of these running styles.

I just LAUGHED MY ASS OFF watching this. I’m totally the runner in the middle with the striped shirt, but I observe all those types at races. God love us all!

Just ONCE I would like to not have terrible race photos. I love how I feel like a badass and look like a hot mess moving in slow motion. Whatever I ran 13.1 suck it haters!

My finish line picture doesn’t depict how pissed I was. I kept looking at my watching going WHY GOD WHY.

Also what possessed to me put my guns up and bite my lip and overall look constipated in those 2 pictures. The girl behind me is embarrassed for me, yet is giving a thumbs up. Thanks for taking two there race photog.

Enjoy the terribleness!
