Marathon Meetup

My dear Auburn, AL friend @wickedwayneeyes is running MCM this weekend.

I of course was semi-bummed (but I have a good excuse) that I wouldn’t be in town to cheer her on. About a month ago I realized that since I’m taking tomorrow off work and I knew she was flying in on Friday that maybe we could meet up.

As fate had it, she lands at 2:15pm tomorrow so I’m picking her up at the airport (DCA, not Dulles where I fly out tomorrow night) and taking her to the expo. My MCM expo was such a blur and I’m sure my Dublin expo will be a blur so I’m excited to accompany her. I may try and pick up a MCM running shirt since aside from my customary marathon visor my only MCM gear is my cotton mock turtleneck shirt they give runners (ick).

Excited to share some pre-race jitters and catch up!

Doc Follow Up

T needs a follow up Doctor’s appointment. Blood work showed high levels of AST and ALT (usually associated with the liver).

Color me stressed. His follow up is on Monday. His appt is about the time I should be done with the Marathon so hopefully we can “Tango” (wifi video chat) after.

I’ve spent too much time on WebMD and the like since he texted me this morning. No clue what it can be, he hasn’t been much of a drinker since his military days, so…

Regardless of what it is I’m glad he’s getting medical attention and hopefully we can treat whatever the problem is.

What’s Up Doc

T had his physical today, first one in a decade!

Doctor said everything looked good, I even sent T with a list of things to ask/talk about. His blood work should be back in a few days and I’m hoping for another good report.

I’m so happy he went, not that I had any real concern, but with him training for a 12K I really just wanted to be sure.

Oh and I weigh like 6 lbs more that him. 6′0 and 186 lbs….jerk! He’s just shy of the healthy BMI (not that BMI is the end all be all) and I’m sure running and getting back to the gym will get him “healthy”  quickly.

If you nag long enough

T is making an appt for a physical finally!

I’ve been on him for nearly a year about it (he hasn’t been in ummmm a decade). Perhaps his upcoming birthday this week and the fact that today he starts his 12K training is finally motivation.

He sent me Zoc Doc results to give my opinion on.

He has a 6 month dentist appt this weekend (that was a first victory getting him to one 6 months ago) and here’s hoping a physical appt this weekend too!

Update: T’s appt is booked for next Monday!!

Everything about my trip to Maine was wonderful.

Thursday: Got a run in before flying into Boston. T & I got picked up by the Father of the Bride who drove us to Maine. Wow, York Beach, ME is gorgeous. Her dad gave us quite the tour. Beers, dinner, hanging out with the Bride and Groom to be before everyone else rolled into town.

Friday: Up hella early for 14 chilly, but beautiful ocean side miles. Saw the groom to be and MOB while out. Then it was time to meet up with the Bridal party for mani/pedis (my feet were thankful). I got OPI’s French Quarter for your thoughts as my nail color (gray) and I’m obsessed. Then it was rehearsal time, followed by the rehearsal dinner, and welcome party. It was great to see so many old friends!

Saturday: WEDDING DAY! All the bridesmaids spent the night with the Bride to be at her family’s cottage. We had the beauty squad come to the house for hair and makeup (well I did my own makeup). Lots of mimosas, music, and laughs. What a stunning bride – I’m obsessed with her dress. Beautiful wedding from start to finish. The Bridesmaids and Bride got to ride a rented trolley to the ceremony and then the whole Bridal party took the trolley to various places for pictures. Shame on me for not really taking any, can’t wait to see the professional ones! The reception was a HUGE dance party, even T and I danced because almost every single person was out there, so we got some liquid courage and joined in!

Sunday: Bagels by the beach to wish the Bride and Groom well before their 2 week honeymoon in Greece. I can’t believe one of my best friends is married, I remember almost 5 years ago when she told me she thought he was “the one.” T and I got a ride down to Boston for 24 hours of fun. We checked out historic sites, lots of strolling by the water, went to the Boston Marathon finish line, Fenway Park, Boston Commons. Ate yummy Italian in the North End, I of course got chicken, broccoli, ziti.

Monday: We actually slept in, we needed it. I did have to forfeit my planned MA miles, but we had walked over 11 miles on Sunday. Went to Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall, visited more historic stuff like the Boston Tea Party ships and Museum (T really wanted to do it). We got a late lunch at the Parish Cafe (one of my favorites) and then it was off to the airport.
