Running with an Audience?

So today I geared up for a normal run of 3 miles unlike my beastmode 5 miles I did yesterday.

My favorite treadmill was open (I always feel like I have a better workout on my favorite treadmill) I did some stretching and go to turn on my ipod…and it’s tweaked out. What pisses me off more is that my ipod was dying yesterday and I put it in my gym bag to charge at home. I forgot to charge it overnight and I freaking go back UP the stairs to charge it this morning and get it at lunch all charged up – I even look at the damn screen. So it wasn’t dead, it was tweaked. My ipod does that every once in a while.

I was worried about my run, but begrudgingly ran/jogged 3.5 miles. After my run I did legs which apparently EVERYONE in the gym was doing.

While I’m switching machines a lady stops me and asks me how long I ran and a few cardio questions. She’s like I can only do about 2.5 miles etc. She said she’s been watching me and thinks I’m doing a great job. A gym groupie I love it!

jjenniac:

I was just quoting the Auburn Creed today to a friend in terms of getting healthy when I saw a friend upload these ads to facebook. The stanza reads:

I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.

This is from my other tumblr, but I thought it was fitting to add to this one!

Mistress No More

Well if you’ve found your way over here from My Quarter Life Catharsis than Welcome!

This blog here has been my “mistress” for far too long and I think there’s more than enough room in your “favorites” for 2 blogs from me (and my AWESOME tumblr – I like to write, sue me).

Like I said some of the posts are strictly number based and that’s what I thought the blog was going to be, me transcribing what I write in my little notebook onto a blog, but it’s become more than that. It’s become a story of my successes and failures, accomplishments and heartaches.

So if you care to read it, I suggest you look at the archives and start at the beginning. You can skip the posts with my weekly tallies if you’d like, but I don’t want it to be a secret anymore because I’m so proud of myself and where I’m headed.

My friends fitness blogs have been really inspirational and I want to put this out there to inspire and motivate others. Also I think writing all this makes me more accountable, and even more so now because I have invited you all to read this, but I did it because I believe in myself and the power to make changes in your life.

Motivation

“If it hurts to tie your shoes, you know you’re doing something right.”

They have a few signs up at my gym and one of them features that quote…I always can’t help, but agree. And let me tell you I am feeling a wee bit sore today and I love it.

I’m CONTEMPLATING running 1 Mile for a Haiti fundraiser thing, but it’s at 7:45am on a Saturday…I don’t love the idea of that, but I haven’t ruled it out either.

Weekly update and January totals are forthcoming.

PS: I see people have been on my blog – I’d love for you to comment and make me feel less alone on my journey!
