Being a grown up does have some positives!

So human resources and benefits had walk in hours to ask questions about the open enrollment period. I decided to go and make some inquiries.

I found out what steps I needed to get into the “healthaware” option which I am a perfect candidate for. I just need to do 2 easy steps and then my health insurance premium will go from $75/mo to $9/mo.

Today: 191.6

out of control.

I hated 90% of the pictures taken of me this weekend. I feel fat and slow. I’m “fine” with my half marathon time, but carrying around 10lbs more than the last few races I’ve done didn’t help. Meanwhile yesterday marked 2 years since I ran the LA marathon and was in the best shape of my life and weighed ~175 pounds.

I hate how lax I am. I hate how much I want to keep my weight under control and yet I feel so out of control sometimes.

My appetite is currently sidelined by a cold and I hope next week to reboot INSANITY. Next week I’ll also hear if I got into to NYC Marathon – which both excites and terrifies me.

March 21st is 2 days away. It marks the equinox and the start of spring. It is also the 1st day of the astrological year. AKA sounds like a great place to start with a clean slate and see how much progress I can make by the start of summer!

::I believe in a sound mind, a sound body, and a spirit that is not afraid::

I saw both of these on a friend’s blog and had to share. I love productive Sundays. It’s a great Sunday when I get enough sleep, go to church, get a good run in, go grocery shopping, do some meal prep and relax.

This week at work the students at my University are on Spring Break so that means I don’t have 10,000 meetings and can get stuff done. If I use this week right then I’ll set myself up well for the next few weeks. FOCUS!

Me Weekends

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I really savor me weekends. It’s one of the true joys of not being in a relationship or having kids.

Lots of HIMYM (rewatching the series)
Watching DVR (hello Nashville)
Sleeping in
Doing laundry
Running – 9 miles yesterday and 3 today
Church
Catching up with friends on the phone
And now I’m currently getting a pedicure before healthy grocery shopping

I savor this freedom…

Simple Pleasures

I didn’t have any substantial plans this weekend, but it was a great one nonetheless:

Friday

  • Ran 3 miles after work in the freezing cold icyness (see previous post)
  • Watched this week’s Nashville with my roommate
  • Went to bed early after having a late Thursday at a friend’s fun housewarming in Baltimore

Saturday

  • Went on my first official THIRFTING adventure with my friend and her cousin. Bought 2 pairs of dress pants, a work shirt, a loungy shirt, a fun tshirt, a purse, and flannel pj pants for under $25
  • Did T25 workout
  • Wrapped up Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother on DVD, since I’m on a quest to rewatch the series before the finale on March 31st

Sunday

  • Got trained on the tech and soundboard at church, it brought me back to my college radio and tv station days
  • Stopped by a few CVS stores to pick up some super discount Sally Hansen Nail Effects (see previous post)
  • Ran 8 miles and felt pretty damn good about it since it’s the furthest I’ve ran since my April half marathon
  • Went to Starbucks to work on my resume and apply for a dreamish job
  • Went to Trader Joes for an awesome and reasonably priced shopping trip
  • Watched Grammy’s on a 90 min delay so I was able to fast forward through commercials (best performance of the night was Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar in my opinion. Trent Reznor/Queens of the Stone Age is a close second, but stupid CBS rudely cut them off).
