NSV – Belly Pop

I have limited knowledge when it comes to pregnancy and pregnant women, but I do know there is a point in their pregnancy when their belly “pops” and they go from not showing to showing like overnight.

Well I’m pretty sure I just experience the weight loss equivalent.

Yesterday I noticed that my belly seems to have “popped” IN. I went from have a little lower belly roll to a much flatter lower stomach overnight. Don’t me wrong I still have work to do on my stomach, but this is awesome. I spent like 10 minutes staring at my stomach this morning. I’m excited for my monthly measurements tomorrow!

BEFORE – AND NEVER AGAIN

So I realized I’ve posted a lot of pics of me “now” – and mainly it’s because I’m so proud of my hard work.

However I think it’s only fair to post some “before” pics. Which pains me to do, but I think showing progress is important. I know I get most inspired by seeing those before and afters. So as much as it’s hard to show “befores” it’s important.

45 pounds has made a world of different to me and I still have some work left to do.

The pictures from last year, most notably the one of my in purple which was from going out the night before Thanksgiving was the picture that made me realize I was out of control and needed to get a grip on my life.

*Editor’s note: I lost SOME weight in late 2006-2007, but gained it back and probably then some. So really the first three photosets aren’t “progess” pictures because it wasn’t until January 1, 2010 that I changed my lifestyle.

Due to all my travel/conference craziness I forgot to show you guys my new ‘do. I have some major blonde streaks and my entire underneath layer at the nape of my neck is blonde too. It’s very fun!

Between the hair and my thinner body everyone at the conference keeps telling me how fantastic I look!

**I should probably mention I usually only see these folks at the annual conference and I’ve come a looooong way since last November.**

Life as a Lion!

End of October Measurements

A day later, but definitely not a dollar short…

  • Chest: 35 (-0)
  • Waist: 32.5 (-1)
  • Hips: 40 (-0)
  • Upper Thigh: 24 (-1)
  • Above Knee: 16.5 (-.25)

  • Neck: 12.5 (-0)
  • Wrist: 6 (-0) *technically it’s a TEENY bit smaller than 6

My legs are looking freaking FIERCE let me tell you. I really think I’ll get to the point where my thighs don’t touch verrrry soon.

I’m pretty sure my legs look bangin’ because I ran 102.34 miles this month, including a one week period where I ran 33.94 miles!

WIW – 170s Edition

  • Last 2 Weeks Ago: 183.8
  • This Week: 179.8
  • Difference: – 4
  • Total Lost: 42.8
  • Left to lose: 11.8 (GW)/24.8(UGW)

You guys I almost cried this morning. 170s! When I started this journey in January, NEVER did I think I’d get this far. I hoped it, but I never thought it. Even when I joined you all on tumblr in May and SAW you all doing this – I never thought I’d get here.

To think that I’m 11.8 pounds from being in the “NORMAL” range for my height is CRAZY!

There is something different about being down 40+ pounds than any other weight bracket I’ve experienced thus far, but I think once I can say I’ve lost 50 pounds it will really hit me. I think because that will really be the point that I stop being “fat” and start being “normal” “healthy” “fit.” I think that’s when my head is really going to not be able to wrap itself around my new new body.

Regardless of your “number” today or anyday – you are making changes to your life for the better and your body will catch up!

Pants off dance off

The past few weeks I’ve been trying to get “one last wear” out of a number of pairs of pants before I consign/sell them.

Well today I am wearing XL knit pants from NY&Co that I love, but they are waaaaay big. Like creep down my hips every step I take and I’d have to pull them up every so often. Well this morning I was walking across campus holding two cups of coffee and my pants were really sliding low to the point that I stepped on the cuff and they almost fell down!

I had two cups of coffee in my hands and didn’t know what to do. It was both scary and hilarious. Luckily I was able to put the coffees down on a bench and pull my pants up! Needless to say today is the last day I’m wearing these pants.

WIW

  • This Week: 183.8
  • Last Week: 186.2
  • Change: -2.4
  • Total Lost: 38.8
  • Left to Lose: 15.8/38.8

YAY after weeks of barely moving it’s lovely to see you 183. I’m on the cusp of so many big things right now: losing 40 pounds, being in the 170s and let’s not forget running my first half marathon on Sunday. Life is GOOD.

I’m really excited about taking measurements tomorrow because I know despite the lack of major movement on my scale this month my body is changing and taking shape (as an athlete).

Consignment fun

So I finally had to consign/sell some of my designer clothes because they were too big. The employees were drooling and like fighting over who gets my clothes! I expect to make bank when it all sells. While I was there I tried on size 12 Calvin Klein shorts and they were a tad too big so I passed on 12s! I also tried on these crop pants in a size 10 and they zipped – now it WASN’T pretty, but they zipped. What?!? I passed since by the time they’ll fit it will be too cold to wear them and by next summer I’m gonna be wearing single digits – which I never thought was possible, but it is in my future!

After some internal debate I decided to post the pictures I took of myself in 14s and 12s at Ann Taylor yesterday – yeah I’m sneaky like that I didn’t tellya that I took pics too!

**Please ignore my white midsection as opposed to my golden/tan arms**
