This weekend I de-cluttered my closet like whoa. There is no reason for me to drag clothes that are too big or that I’m never going to wear again to Virginia when I move. The amount of clothes I either tossed, gave to good will, or brought to the consignment shop was insane.

Clothes used to help me feel good about myself, but now I JUST FEEL GREAT IN MY OWN SKIN. The clothes are just icing on the cake. I don’t need clothes to make me happy. My wardrobe is drastically smaller (pun not intended, but it’s also true) these days as per the scores of unused hangers I now have.

When I dropped off my bag of goodies to the consignment shop I told them it was the last of “My Collection” for their racks since I’m moving in a few weeks.

Of course I couldn’t leave the story empty handed. I bought the above items. The blazer is a size 10, skirt is size 12, pants are size 12 and the top is a medium. INSANE. I still have a hard to accepting that I get to shop in that section of stores after years of XL/16s.

FYI my new school’s colors are green and gold – hence the 2 yellow pieces. The job offer letter is in the mail, so it should be public knowledge later this week. Telling my students is going to be hard and bittersweet for sure!

I got my hair did yesterday!

I went with an ombre for the color – aka darker on top and lighter on the bottom/ends.

I love playing with hair color. This is a nice fall look – an homage to your sun soaked locks growing out, but in a fabulous way.

The color should lighten some with a few washes. The back looks cool too.

Throwback Dec 2006 picture of me and Mr. 365 wearing eachother’s hats.

Happy 30th Mother-effin Birthday Mr. 365!

I will be out of town Fri-Sun for a conference and I would be absolutely remiss if I didn’t show enormuous amounts of love for him before I left town.

You sir gave yourself the gift of not recognizing that person in the picture and you helped further motivate me get to a point where I no longer recognize the person in the picture with you.

You are such a rockstar and I so regret not knowing you better in grad school, but I’m very thankful that through power of social media we have been able to become better friends and cheer eachother on.

Looking forward to following your next challenge!

Editors Note: I’ve kept this picture in my draft for a looooong while waiting to unleash it’s horror beauty. If this isn’t birthday love then I don’t know what is.

Some ups and downs with measurements – I may redo my belly measuremenet, because I’m shocked that it jumped 3 inches, like not possible, my belly looks gooood. Regardless of numbers I feel freaking great. I am having a “skinny” day and I peeked at the scale and was quite excited by the number I saw, I hope it doesn’t get scared off for WIW tomorrow.

Measuring Me: 2.1.11

Here’s a little look at my measurements in review. May 31 was the first time I took my measurements, I wish I had taken them last January when I started this journey, but it’s good to see the change nonetheless.

  • Neck: 13 -12.5 -13
  • Wrist: 6 -5.75 – 6.25

It’s nice to see that my legs have held on strong during my hiatus. It’s interesting how it’s only ~5 pounds since that Decemeber 1 measurement, but most of those numbers changed. I’m not as toned as I was then and apparently it shows, especially in my arms! I am looking forward to getting back to my Dec 1 body and then continue to see those numbers change.

I wasn’t thrilled with the inconsistency of my measuring the past few months, so I’ve opted to measure more areas and add more detail for me to remember where the hell I’m measuring. I’ll be using these areas from here on out

This has been floating around facebook this weekend and it makes me want to throw up. 8th grade class photo. I was the fat girl (row of standing girls 5th on from the right is me). Just looking at it makes me want to cry. If it was this time last year I might have cried, but I’ve worked so hard this year and my life is too wonderful right now. It’s interesting to be getting facebook friend requests from these people who I went to school with for 8ish years and havent seen much of since. I’m pleased to say my life is far better and brighter than many of theirs.

November by the Numbers

After 2 half marathons in October I took time to recover and then eased into my full marathon training program. I look forward to December being another triple-digit mileage month.
