I’m San Diego bound on Friday – Tuesday for a (fun) work conference. I’m looking forward to running 10 miles on Saturday morning and exploring SD since I’ve never been.

I’m staying at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego – any recommendations on places to eat or visit nearby would be much appreciated. Also do I have any tumblr lovies out there?

NYC Marathon

Just entered the NYC Marathon Lottery!!!!

I had hoped to run Dublin this year, but one of my good friends is getting married that weekend. So Dublin will have to wait, but I’m pretty hell bent on NYC, lottery or charity.

Should hear about the NYC Half marathon pretty soon since that lottery closes on Monday!

New York State of Miles

Was in NY on a super quick visit this weekend and fit in some stellar runs:

  • Sat: 3.1 miles around my hometown
  • Sun: 9 miles from Queens to Manhattan with a big loop of Central Park
  • Mon: 3.1 miles at my beloved boardwalk* in Long Beach

*The boardwalk was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and then rest of it was demolished this winter. I was home for the 4th of July, but didn’t see any progress, color me SHOCKED when I drove down to Long Beach to just run on the streets parallel to the ocean and saw HALF the boardwalk finished and open. It was magical!

2nd home

It’s crazy to think outside of my hometown on Long Island, NY that Auburn, AL is the place I’ve lived the longest.

So excited to be back in the southland this weekend to see some very special friends and run a half marathon in the place where I first started my love affair with running!

Just registered for the inaugural “Finish on the 50” Half Marathon in my old stomping grounds of Auburn, AL.

Last year was the first “Finish on the 50” running festival with a 10K/5K/1M fun run (as you can see from the 2012 pic posted).

I’ve been looking for a spring half and also have a few reasons to get down to Auburn (friends having babies, favorite students graduating) plus it’s only $50 for the half. So it’s PERFECT!

The race starts at our infamous Toomers Oaks at Toomers Corner (before they are removed due to their 2009 poisoning by a crazy Alabama fan which has slowly killed them) and then the race ends on the 50 yard line of the Auburn Football stadium.

Shout out to Kateo for sharing her plans to run it on her blog thus leading me to look up flights and schedules and pricing.
