Intervals

After a mini hiatus from interval training, I got back to it yesterday. Knocked out 5 miles of intervals with pacing of 5.3 and 6.4 – I know I could have pushed it faster, but at the same time I hadn’t done intervals in weeks. I have to say it’s the best I’ve felt during and post interval run. I also think the spin class is going to help with interval training, because that is what RPM is. Like 2 minutes of going like a champ then a quick cool down before another 2 minutes of beastmode action.

I was pretty pleased with a 5 mile average pace of 10:28

I still have plans to run in a 5K on Sunday – online registration is closed, but I can register there. Not being pre-registered may, make it harder to get up at 4:30am on Sunday. I have this fantasty of running the 5K in under 30 minutes, but I have no idea if I can do that. My first and only 5K road race I ended up with 33:29 – So as much as I’d love a sub 30 time, I’d really love to be under 32 minutes.

Robin: Have you ever had one of those days where nothing all that monumental happens, but by the end of it you have no idea who you are or what the hell you are doing with your life? Do you ever have one of those days?
Ted: [smiles] Uhh, about once a week.

~How I Met Your Mother

I’ve been re-watching the entire series on DVD and I loved that exchange. It really sums up life in your mid-late twenties.

As scary and unsettling as it can be having a quarter life crisis – it’s also truly awesome and I love constantly questions myself, my wants, my abilities…

Your biggest challenge isn’t someone else. It’s the ache in your lungs and the burning in your legs, and the voice inside you that yells ‘CAN’T’. But you don’t listen, you just push harder. And then you hear the voice whisper ‘can’, and you discover that the person you thought you were is no match for the one you really are.

Spin: Part Deux

Went back for another spin class this week. It was both harder and easier than the first class. I really love the instructors they keep me going. I’m totally gonna have the type of ass and legs you can bounce quarters off of!

The plan is to buy padded short this week. I’m going to try and make it to class 1x a week, I this 2x would be too much, especially as I wrap up my half marathon training.

I really think after my half marathon I may train for a triathlon. There is actually a triathlon student organization on campus, I may see if I can tag along with them.

Oh and did I mention I’m running a 5k in Georgia this weekend.

I swear sometimes I don’t even know who this woman I’ve become is, but I love her!

Bachelor #3

3 is my favoriter number and I must say Bachelor #3 did not disappoint.

Bachelor #3 is the 36 year old english professor. I met him 2 weeks ago out when I was invited by one of my friends from my improv group for drinks. My friend is also an english professor and she was out at a little jazz bar with like 10 other professors from the english and theatre department. Well it turns out #3 was sitting next to my friend and he offered me his seat and sat on the booth side of the table since I only knew my friend. Had a great night talking to everyone that night, but was very intrigued/intimidated by #3. Well the end of the night comes and goes with group goodbyes. I in turn look him up on facebook, but don’t do anything about it. Well the next day he friends me which leads to facebook posts/messages and a date.

I was excited all day yesterday because I knew if nothing else it would be stellar conversation. He did not disappoint. Lots of fun and flirtation. He is very much a grown up and confident about who he is. I guess that comes with age. The funny thing about #3 is that he is totally a geek-chic hipster which is SO NOT MY SCENE. However I guess there are exceptions to every rule. He also was sporting a beard which I was a fan of.

I should also mention he was beyond enamored with me. He even went in for the kill with a good night kiss(es?!) – no hesitation he walked me to my car and just went for it. Bold. Bold my friend. I like your style.

I’m gonna leave this post short and sweet…
