5K PR

Despite my week(end) of bad fitness/eating I finished the race in under 28 min. The clock said 28:08 but I wasn’t at the front. Sadly there was no timing chips and my ipod and nike sensor died after mile 1 – so I am going to guess that my time was 27:30ish which is over a full minute off my last 5K! Which means my average pace per mile was under 9 minutes!?!?

I’m mad that my ipod died, but I ran my little heart out in 86 degree mid-afternoon Alabama heat. Oh and I REALLY hated running without music – listening to myself pant while running is not motivating!

My next half is under 2 week away, I can’t screw around this week I need to step up my game and this PR is just what I needed!

Send some love

My dear friend and fellow fitblr Love of Me was in a pretty bad car accident this morning. THANKFULLY she is fine. Sore and a little banged up, but fine. She swerved to avoid a dog in the road and spun off the road and landed in a ditch. Her airbags deployed and apparently the car took quite the beating.

I talked with her briefly this morning and texted with her just a little while ago. This was her first major wreck and I know how shaken up you can be from them. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I hope she can get back in the pool or to the gym soon so she can clear her head. I also hope that she isn’t sore for too long, she’s been fighting injury enough.

Superfansticredible

E of One-Twenty-Five

Sadly, there are no words yet invented, that could describe the feeling of pure joy that encompassed my body when I stepped across that finish line. Hence, I’ll create one.  Crossing the finish line was superfansticredible. My whole body was engulfed by this pure, one hundred percent real emotion of success. In that moment I wasn’t defined by anything, but the applause of the screaming fans.

God I can’t wait to one day run a marathon and feel superfansticredible

Interview outfits from this week. Saw toooooons of students. It was a great week, but draining as well.

All my pants are getting silly big which is sad because I LOVE the pants I wore on Tuesday.

Please note my Wednesday outfit. I love the color orange, one of the school colors is orange and it’s fall. Please note the orange shoes!

Thursday outfit. Not as fun as the others. Only had 2 interviews today.

Don’t worry next 2 weeks of interviews I will post my outfits too!

WIW – 170s Edition

  • Last 2 Weeks Ago: 183.8
  • This Week: 179.8
  • Difference: – 4
  • Total Lost: 42.8
  • Left to lose: 11.8 (GW)/24.8(UGW)

You guys I almost cried this morning. 170s! When I started this journey in January, NEVER did I think I’d get this far. I hoped it, but I never thought it. Even when I joined you all on tumblr in May and SAW you all doing this – I never thought I’d get here.

To think that I’m 11.8 pounds from being in the “NORMAL” range for my height is CRAZY!

There is something different about being down 40+ pounds than any other weight bracket I’ve experienced thus far, but I think once I can say I’ve lost 50 pounds it will really hit me. I think because that will really be the point that I stop being “fat” and start being “normal” “healthy” “fit.” I think that’s when my head is really going to not be able to wrap itself around my new new body.

Regardless of your “number” today or anyday – you are making changes to your life for the better and your body will catch up!

MIA

I’m going to MIA a bit this week. We are in the process of interview students to serve as freshmen and transfer orientation leaders. AKA I get to see nearly 200 students in group interviews this week. It’s stressful, exciting and fun. However I will not be at my computer much throughout day.

I do have to say I love interviews because it gives me an excuse to really DRESS UP at work. We are pretty relaxed business casual in the office reguarly so I take this as an opportunity to whip out my blazers, dress pants, heels etc. I think I’ll take pics of my outfits each day and post them!

oopsies

I skipped the gym today for 3 reasons:

  1. I pushed hard yesterday with my 3 hours of exercise.
  2. I forgot to shave my legs/underarms – normally I don’t care if I miss a few days, but I was worried I’d see the cute bouncer I talked to on Friday!
  3. One of my former head orientation leaders was in the office as we were closing up. Him and I ended up talking running/races/triathlons etc for nearly an hour after work. He was very supportive of me and my running all summer and we did the early morning parent runs at orientation together (well I went to 2 of 8 and he went to 8 of 8). Him and his twin brother has planned to run a full marathon this fall, but some injuries derailed their training a bit.

All in all I don’t regret my decision. I’m gonna make up this run on one of my rest days later this week – which means it will have to be a pre-work run since my afternoons later this week are pretty booked!
