Mall Massage

Yesterday afternoon (post race) I went to the mall and between walking to the metro, walking around the mall and oh yeah running a half marathon I was sore.

The little massage booth? pen? you know cluster of massage chairs was calling to me. I actually saw the automatic massage chairs and thought about using one, but they were full. I ended up getting a mall massage 10 min back/shoulders and 10 min feet for $22.

BEST. MONEY. I. EVER. SPENT.

The masseuse was NOT kidding, it was pretty magical!

13.1 check!

Ran from Mount Vernon to the National Harbor. Great temps, but there were light rain showers throughout.

I did make a friend from my apt complex. The buses to Mount Vernon were leaving like .5 miles from my apt so I was going to walk. While still in my apt complex a girl who lives here was driving over to the buses and offered me a ride. She’s very cool and like VP of the NoVA running club. She knew a ton of people at the race and invites to me their track workouts.

I had a solid race – even though I didn’t “race” – I treated it as a training run.

Waiting on official time but my garmin clocked me at 2:33ish with an 11:35 average pace

To race or not to race?

Yesterday marked 2 years since I ran my first half marathon what an accomplishment it was!

Now I’m a few weeks ago from my 2nd marathon and I am debated whether or not to LAST MINUTE register for a local half marathon on Sunday. I haven’t raced since a 5K in May and I feel like if I did race it would be a good barometer on where I am considering I’m behind in my training, however the race is $95.

Thoughts?
