Attention Coffee Drinkers

I am a big time coffee drinker and love to start my day with a cup, but I can’t bare to pay $3/day for my coffee. I should note than I am a drip coffee drinker – not a latte or fancy drink person.

Anyway I have been a HUGE Starbucks Via fan since it came on the market a few years ago. Via is concentrated coffee powder that you add hot water to – not to be confused with gross instant coffee crystals. I love my Via which comes to about $1 per packet, but always looking for a bargain I came across this new product.

Folgers Fresh Breaks coffee. It’s the same concept as Via and in my opinion just a good, but for half the price!

I bought myself an electric kettle for Christmas and brought it to work, with coffee this cheap I may end up drinking more!

WIW

Last Week: 191.6

This Week: 189.0

Change: -2.6

I’ve worked out everyday of 2013 thus far with plans to work out today (Trainer Dan), but then I have plans tomorrow that will result in a much needed rest day.

Pain in the Ass

Literally

I went to my first RPM (spin) Class in MONTHS yesterday. Even though I wore my padded shorts I was still hurting. Plus over Christmas I bruised my tailbone (due to a night of debauchery that has lead me to abstain for alcohol for a few weeks). I pushed through the pain, but it wasn’t pleasant and today I’m still waddling 😛

Trainer Dan X 2

Today starts Trainer Dan classes 2x a week until I’ve chiseled myself a hot body haha

I paid a “down payment” (some oral surgery refund money that I got unexpectedly) to bank some sessions and then will have $100 taken out every month for future sessions.

My post work out whey protein powder and bottle is already packed and ready!

Freddie’s First Race??

Lost Dog 5K

Celebrate the dog days of summer with a run with your favorite four legged friend!

Pacers Events and Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation present the Lost Dog 5Ks, a low-key 5K evening series along the Bluemont Trail in Arlington. Run by yourself or bring along your canine for a 5K run culminating in a post-race party every Friday at Lost Dog’s Stray Cat Café.

Don’t have a dog to run with? Dogs are not required to participate but you have the option to “Rent-A-Mutt” … a Lost Dog rescue looking for a little exercise and companionship.

Registration is now open!  Due to course restrictions, we must limit registration – so don’t delay, register today!

Prizes for humans and canine competitors!

Date: First Four Fridays in August, 2013

Me and my 8 pounds of fur would be quite the site…

Best thing I’ve EVER tasted PERIOD

Mais Wafels from Belga Cafe in DC

Cornbread waffle, avocado, pulled pork, fried egg

I went there for brunch yesterday. It was a pain in the ass wait, but ended up being BEYOND worth. It was so savory with a hint of sweetness.

Update: The owner and executive Chef is/was a Top Chef Seattle contestant!

Ball Chair Verdict

I liked it, but didn’t love it.

My posture was better, but not as good as I thought it would make it.

I didn’t like how there weren’t arm rests. I use them more than I thought I suppose because I missed having them for my elbows as I sat.

And FINALLY because the ball was plastic it made my butt SWEATY. Truth be told I did have my new space heater on under my desk, but the butt sweat to heater warmth ratio was lopsided.

Monumental Monument Run!

My friend Kayla’s friend Michelle wanted to run the monuments today and invited me to join them. I then invited my friend Amy to join as well since all 4 of us are running the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in April. This was my first “group run” ever.  We planned to run part of the Mount Vernon Trail over the Memorial Bridge to the Mall.

I was worried about being super slow, but we all were able to stay together chatting. We kept to ~11 min mile which was perfect. We ended up covering 5.25 miles (my longest run since Marine Corps Marathon). We chatted back at our cars after the run and made plans to run Rock Creek Park in MD next weekend.

Note: That is a stock photo fromt he web, but is that bridge we ran over heading towards the monuments!
