Domestic Goddess

I cooked for T last night, I was nervous because my cooking skills are good, but I’m not confident in them. I made:

  • cheese magic as an appetizer AKA havarti wrapped in crescent rolls
  • my well known sesame seed and soy sauce green beans
  • spicy roasted red potatoes that my roommate gave me the recipe for
  • and I cheated with an apple and almond stuffing stuffed pork chops
  • I also bought a build your own 6 pack of beer 

He really liked everything, gave little compliments throughout. After dinner we watched 2 episodes of Full House from my full series DVDs (if you know me you know I LOVE Full House). Such a great night with him, so much so that it’s a little bittersweet that I’m headed out of town tomorrow and won’t be back until Monday.

I am totally savoring this stage, it’s the best. I can’t wipe the smile off my face 😀

Triathlon training and being “in like” both apparently do a body good. 

I plan to do another 425-450 yard swim today after work and then at least a 12 mile bike ride since I leave for North Carolina tomorrow and won’t be back until Monday. 

Just Keep Swimming

I had an AMAZING swim after work yesterday. I aimed for 400yards, but I felt so good I did 425 which will be my tri distance. 

All of the tips and lessons and advice I got from my friend’s dad already kicked in. I felt SO much more confident. I didn’t feel as exhausted because I got my breathing under control and I feel like I was crossing the pool at a noticeably faster speed. 

Purchasing some gear: speedo vanquisher googles, a pull buoy, a kickboard as well as a tri suit. It’s in my “cart” at the moment, but plan to pull the trigger today since it’s pay day.

Ish is getting real, but I’m getting excited.

Post swim, I went out for a 3 mile run and kept it just under an 11 min pace in crazy heat.
