My hair is long enough for a sock bun again!
I don’t care that this trend is 4 years old, it’s always been a favorite. Sweet bun by day, flowing curls by night. It’s a win-win!

T had his physical today, first one in a decade!
Doctor said everything looked good, I even sent T with a list of things to ask/talk about. His blood work should be back in a few days and I’m hoping for another good report.
I’m so happy he went, not that I had any real concern, but with him training for a 12K I really just wanted to be sure.
Oh and I weigh like 6 lbs more that him. 6′0 and 186 lbs….jerk! He’s just shy of the healthy BMI (not that BMI is the end all be all) and I’m sure running and getting back to the gym will get him “healthy” quickly.
My beloved fitbit flex which I got in August 2013 is really annoying me. It’s charger has been a problem for well over a year, but I was able to finagle it to charge until recently.
So in addition to struggling for the charger and the fitbit to actually charge, sporadically it’s been fully charged and then die/drain within hours. I’m also having syncing issues once I got get it charged back up after phantom drains.
I’m so not one to every call/write to customer service, but I also know most people have had positive fitbit customer service interactions and get replacement fitbits/chargers. Thoughts/suggestions on if I should suck it up and buy a new fitbit or reach out to customer service and if so what approach to take?
Just pounded out my last double digit training run before Dublin. I must say my knees, ankles, heels, and feet are looking forward to the break to recover for race day! 62/71
1. I have so many Libras in my life – this weekend T and I are headed to Baltimore to celebrate two of my long time friends’ birthdays. We are also going to T’s family’s house to celebrate T and his mom’s birthday which was the day before his.
2. Speaking of birthdays, tomorrow is my mom’s birthday. She and I have never been close, but I had originally planned to go to NY for her birthday. However she decided to make other plans and said coming at Thanksgiving is good enough. I can never win with her and I don’t know why I keep trying.
3. T started his 12K training this week. That jerk has run his first two 2 mile training runs in ~17 minutes. I wish I could just be fast. My fast was a 9:40 mile a few years back, now my fast is an 11:30 mile, but I’ll stop comparing.
4. Tomorrow is my last double digit run before Dublin, how freaking crazy is that. Training calls for 12, but I’m going to do 13.1 (I missed my 10 miler last week due to rain/stress), plus I always prefer a “round” number like 13.1, well round in race terms!
5. I’m looking forward to my lunch date today with a colleague I met through the University twitter account! She was tweeting on behalf of the University in August (they have a new person from campus tweet each week) as she sent off her first kid to college at Auburn! That first bonded us, but she is also a runner training for Marine Corps Marathon. We’re going to the all you can eat dining hall so watch out!
Happy Birthday to this sweet stud right here!
Made chocolate chip cookie and Oreo brownies for T’s birthday! They are dangerously delicious, so much so I sent most of them to work with him and brought some for my students!
TBT Ragnr
As referenced earlier this week, I ran Ragnar DC two years ago with (L-R) my friend Amy and the fabulous @novemberhypomnema @94monkeys @fromthebackofthepack and @veggielife
With it being harder and harder to catch daylight to run in I’ve found myself squeezing runs in when I can:
One of the biggest challenges of running a Ragnar Relay is race is running multiple legs in ~36hours. I’ll give myself a short reprieve after Dublin, but then it’s Ragnar Florida Keys training (Race weekend is February 5 & 6).
We still have spots on our team if you want to join @94monkeys and me!
Today: 194.8
Last Week: 197.4
3 weeks ago: 195.4
Change: -2.6
Glad my wedding weekend indulges were counteracted by my 20 miler over the weekend and an additional loss ta-boot!
