On a roll

I’ve worked out every day in March so far except one. I have no plans to regularly work out 7 days a week, but it’s much nicer to realize that you are working out more than you planned than less!

Students are on spring break this week so I’ve made it to 3 lunchtime workout classes and have left work on time which has led to more work out opportunities.

Next week T and I have a 5 day Carolinas/VA Beach trip leading up to the Shamrock Half Marathon. We’re spending 24 hours in Charleston and I fully intend on running so I can knock South Carolina off my list of states/places I’ve run

PRAISE BIG BABY JESUS!

I’m working SO hard and to be struggling for 2+ months to get out of the 190s with very little progress has been hella frustrating. 180s – I’m coming!

REGISTERED!

I had such a great time at the Pacers St Pats Race on Sunday, it got me thinking about what other Pacers races I could run this season.

I’ve been really happy with my running and I was thrilled with my 10K pace so I’m looking forward to my VA Beach Half on the 20th, but beyond that I wanted to add to my calendar.

For the first time since I moved to Northern VA I’m both free and in shape to run the GW Parkway Classic 10M – which takes places is my old ‘hood/T’s current ‘hood. This race is such a staple in the DC/NoVA running community (along with the Cherry Blossom 10 miler and MCM – both of which I have done).

Yesterday morning I went to review the registration page with plans to register after my half, but then yesterday afternoon I was reading my friend A’s blog. A is taking a break from running after a killer fall and winter season of kicking ass and taking names which lead to some fatigue and minor injury. In her post A mentioned all the spring races that she was going to bow out of, so I figured I’d shoot her an email offering to take her Parkway Classic bib off her hands since she could transfer through the end of the month. A super generously offered to give me the bib (I just needed to cover the $20 transfer fee) and she was thrilled to have the bib going into the hands of a first time runner of this race.

The transfer process was super easy, just completed it this morning!

In summary I’m frustrated. I’m working hard. Fitness classes 3-4x a week and running 3x a week.

At my Oristand, standing desk. I need to get into using it for at least 90 min a day. Today is March 1, my commitment starts now!

Went to barre/pilates today at lunch! Yesterday I went to yoga at lunch and body pump after work. Body is feeling good after the 12 miles I ran on Sunday.

I have a 10K on Sunday which will be 2 weeks out from my half. And naturally I already have my eye on a local 10miler on 4/24.
