So looks like I’ll be running my marathon with hurricane Sandy on my heels this weekend. Talk about motivation to finish as quickly as possible…Yikes!

Your pumpkin-flavored pal,
Hey Dan, I want to come to class tonight, but you need to promise not to break my legs since I have the marathon on Sunday :::he said not a problem::: If you do break my legs I’m going to make you carry me the 26.2 miles :::LOL ok:::
My roommate and I are planning a Magic Mike watch party for tonight after work (especially since she saw it TWICE without me in theaters -the second time was my fault – and her punishment was to buy it for me when it was released aka today)
two twenty eight: playing hooky.

I skipped my first run of marathon training.
I know, I know, How could I? I did still go to the gym, but I did dumb cardio things all while avoiding the treadmill.
But, I hate being tied down to this plan. I hate feeling obligated to run this much at this pace. To be honest, right now, I…
DITTO. My marathon is on Sunday. I feel like my life has been on hold for a few weeks and I can’t wait to race this son of bitch this weekend as fast as I can so I can continue with my life…as a 2x marathoner!!
The weekend in bullets and pictures
- Friday Night: Cleaned my apartment top to bottom and wall to wall
- Saturday AM: Bachelorette Party Prep (this was my first time throwing one)
- Saturday Midday: 8 mile training run
- Saturday Night: Bachelorette Party started at my place and then we headed into DC for some debauchery
- Sunday AMish: Bachelorette Brunch
- Sunday Afternoon: DC to meet up with two beloved Auburn friends who are in town
- Sunday Night: Got 3 calls in a row while still in DC from Josh who had 103 degree fever following a bad reaction to a flu shot. Go to his place and play nurse helping to break his fever and make him feel better
- Monday AM: Josh’s fever is back up. I call out of work in the morning and take him to urgent care. While in the grocery picking up his prescription he picks up some flowers for me to thank me for taking care of him. Help him get comfortable back at his place.
- Monday Midday: I go to the dentist because my wisdom teeth have lead to relentless blinding pain since Friday (but I managed to tolerate as best as possible). 1 tooth needs out ASAP, but the other 3 need to go to. Get a referral for an oral surgeon and 3 prescription to help with gum inflammation and pain. Since I’m running a marathon this weekend and have my friend’s wedding the following weekend I scheduled all 4 teeth to be removed Nov 9th and I will be going under anesthesia for the first time ever. Yikes!
- Monday afternoon: In the office to check emails and prep for teaching class tonight.

Sore Ass
Trainer Dan (who I now am mutual twitter friends with) kicked my butt in class yesterday. My butt was sore from just the first exercise and today it’s super sore, but in a BAMF kinda way.
Dan also was having up do push ups on the rope things which I couldn’t do and I was refusing to do girl push ups because I’m not good at them either. He said he wan’t going to allow me to go through life not doing push-ups. As it turns out I knocked out a few great sets of girl push-ups. Who knew.
I need to stop underestimating myself sometimes. I’m not a 200+ out of shape girl anymore and I need to get that through my head!
