Well today was a first! In the 15 years that I have intermittently done yoga I’ve never gotten kicked in the head by another participant…until today!
We’d gone through a few sun salutations and on the last one I gently got bopped in the head. It startled me more than anything, so I took a few breaths in child’s pose before resuming. She at least had yoga sock things on so her bare feet didn’t make contact with my hair! #fitness #fitblr #yogamishaps

So crazy to see the progress I’ve made with this Fitbit data. When I got my new fitbit in October my cardio fitness rating was 33-37 aka average. I’ve seen it go from average to average-good to good and now good-very good! Also -0.6lbs on the weight watchers scale today! Glad that I was able to get back on track after my Pittsburgh weekend!
It’s #RaceForHopeDC weekend and I’m missing it for the first time in 9 years ? so I knew I had to get in a 5K while in Pittsburgh! T didn’t run, but still repped!
Well instead of wallowing after my cancelled Raleigh trip I decided to spend yesterday and today being productive (and burning a lot of calories outside). Excited to see my Impatiens take root and flourish!
*a sunburnt tramp stamp is an unfortunate consequence of being an old millennial homeowner haha. Next time I’ll remember to apply my sunscreen there too!
A local winery had a special this weekend: hike their grounds and get rewarded with a free beer flight/wine tasting! Solid life decision!
Urban Hiking class goes to the Zoo!

I’ve been getting into a really good workout routine the since the start of the year and I’ve really held it sacred because summer is my peak work season and I know I won’t be able to get to nearly as many classes.
Yesterday a last minute meeting got put together that I got invited to through another colleague with the University President and some other university leadership to talk about student veterans (which supporting their success and advising their student group is part of my role).
Is it good/bad that my first thought was 5p-6p on Thursday, umm no I have Body Pump and Combat express. My second thought was after business hours, come on.
However I realize what an important opportunity this is to help further advocate for student veteran success in front of university leadership. So I’m staying late and missing class this week, but it’s for a good reason.
I will be working a half day Friday because I have an event that requires me to be here at 7:30am in Friday so between an early day following a late night, I’ll starting my weekend early!

Missed my WW meeting on Thursday due to a work commitment. Had a good few days of eating (even with some roll over) was please to see this when I weighed in at home this morning. Peep that BMI: first time under 27 in yeeeears
