Trainer
First of three sessions with a personal trainer after work today. It’s really cool to reframe my fitness goals from the last time I had a trainer.
Old Me: Lose weight.
Current Me: strength train and get toned with weight loss as an added bonus.
WIW – Broken Record Edition
Today: 176.0
Don’t get me wrong the Jenn 2.5 years ago never thought she’d be woeful over maintaining a weigh in the mid 170s for months, but Jenn of TODAY is so eager to FINALLY hit the 50 pound loss mark. 172.2 YOU ARE SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR.
Over the past 1.5 years I’ve seen 175.X, but have yet to see 174.ANYTHING. Not only do I want to see 174, but I want to see 172 and then 171 – which will put me at the “normal” BMI range for my height.
46 pounds down and in the end I’d like to see 20 more pounds go.
California Love
Waiting at the gate reflecting on my trip. Don’t get me wrong I wish it wasn’t SO COLD and rainy most of the trip, but other than that I really can’t complain.
I got to spend the trip with Kelly, one of my best friends who I don’t get to see enough.
Here are the quick highlights:
Wed: hung out all day at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica.
Thurs: Went to the HIMYM set and WATCHED the cast filming a scene in MacLaurens. Met friends for dinner and drinks at USC and explored campus.
Fri: Awesome brunch on the beach in Malibu. Explored Pepperdine’s gorgeous campus. Race expo and bib pick up.
Sat: DAVID COOK LUNCHEON. Having great conversations with Dave – including telling him my marathon “story.” Getting pictures with him and he signed my race bib.
Sun: Great weather. RAN A MARATHON. Ate In-N-Out Burger.
Mon: Slept 12 hours. Feel sore, but not as bad as I thought.
I have a big week ahead of me, full of goodbyes, packing, driving, and starting a new job!
Going to the airport in my marathon swag.
I may be walking like Frankenstein today, but my body has never FELT or LOOKED fitter or stronger before.
I already conquered the marathon, now I’m ready to conquer the world!
Boom – medal.
Not sure of my time but it was in the 5 hour neighborhood. Honestly the race went as smooth as it could have – no regrets.
Now its ice bath time!
It was a magical 2 hours with David Cook. The luncheon was SO small and I practically sat across from him!
I guess this means there’s no turning back…
To quote Jessie Spano: I’m so excited, I’m so excited, I’m so scared!
LA Bound
After a hectic few days and very little sleep I am sitting on my flight to LAX waiting to take off.
I packed my most important race stuff in my carry on. I made sure to leave room in my luggage for all my race SWAG!
I hope to give some updates throughout my trip here and on my Marathon twitter – twitter.com/jennmarathon
26.2 or bust!
