One of my favorite quotes from @strengthsfinder guru Tom Rath.
.
Fun fact: I got that quote directly from a conversation with Tom Rath. I had the pleasure of having dinner with him 4 years ago as part of his “How Full is Your Bucket” lecture at the university I was working at.

Choosing to stop the cycle has been very difficult. I am often made to feel guilty or small by my mother, but I know deep down I am doing this for me. I can look back and see the generations before me and I refuse to let that be the future. Part of my refusal is my choice to not have children, but I’m working on building my own legacy and giving love to friends and animals!

Had the opportunity to attend a mindfulness workshop at work today by guest lecturer @judson.brewer

Really great information about habits, addiction, distractions, overthinking, and social media among other things! I plan to check out this book called The Craving Mind.

Sedated Freddie !

After a number of health episodes in 2017, Freddie was finally diagnosed with Cushings Disease in January 2018. Cushings effects his adrenal and pituitary glands, and also causes skin and coat issues which was the final clue to help identify it.

Fred has responded well to medication, but he needs ultrasounds and bloodwork every 6 months to monitor his health.

Freddie doesn’t like to be still or pinned down so he need to be sedated for the ultrasounds and the poor guy is always in a daze for the next few hours.

Initial reports for the ultrasound are positive, no major changes since his last one which is good news. Hoping to hear from the vet tomorrow to confirm that with the bloodwork and continue with our current course of treatment.
