30 Counties Gaining (and Losing) the Most Weight

What up Northern Virginia!!! 4 out of the top 5 counties that are losing the most weight over the last decade are in Northern Virginia!

I obviously think income is a key factor, especially here. We also have wonderful national and state parks/trails/etc. The DC Metro is full of people who aren’t here to play. They push themselves at work and it makes sense they are more active too – plus we need to blow off the steam from work! Unrelated, but related The DC area is also one of the top cities for dog owners. We love the stress relief and activity dogs bring!

God, I love radio – it’s such a powerful format.

Despite being a devoted Elvis Duran listener, I do sometimes flip to Bobby Bones when Elvis is on vacation. I flipped to Bobby yesterday following the Vegas shooting because he’s on the country station and turns out Bobby and his band played the Harvest 91 festival Saturday night. Bobby was super raw yesterday. I listened to him this morning because he had a ton of artists come into the studio to play songs to honor all the victims and fans. 

I’ve never heard of the Brothers Osborne before, but this song SHOOK me. I needed to like decompress in the car before coming into the office.

I heard about this study on the radio this morning and considering it says my CURRENT age is the THE age, I can attest! My confidence in my SELF is at an all time high. My body confidence is increasing, but damn I love my 30s!

Sad news coming out of Shenandoah National Park. Female remains were found at 2pm today, most likely those of Nicole Mittendorff who has been missing since last week. She was a firefighter/medic who ran marathons, did crossfit, and was a Ragnarian.

It is believed that she was on a trail run in the park when she went missing. I’ve been following the story since it broke and even more after I learned on Sunday that her car was found near the trail T and I did on Saturday.

One of my students just told me about Kayla Montgomery, it came up because my foot had fallen asleep at my desk and I was limping across the office. Kayla has MS and when she starts running she can’t feel her legs or feet which allows her to run super fast, but she can’t stop therefore she needs to collapse into her coach’s arms at the finish. There are a few videos, but this is from an ESPN special last year. It’s pretty extreme, but good for her running hard while she can!
