I also wanted to personally say thank you. The semester hasn’t ended yet, but being in this position has just been a wonderful experience for me. I feel I am growing and capitalizing on numerous skills, with the main one being public speaking. I know I am not the best public speaker, often times getting tongue twisted, but the more I’ve been leading, the more comfortable I have become. (One day I hope to be as great as you haha!)

Every time I mention to someone, I’m working with you on campus they always speak to how great you are at what you do, and it’s true you do a phenomenal job with the faculty. I just would like to say it is a true honor working along side you as someone I admire professionally and personally; I only look forward to more great things to come.

Getting emails like these from a student make all the craziness of my job well worth it!

This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill

Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

Miles 16-19 were again under 10 min/miles! I couldn’t believe how great I was still feeling. We saw Jenn around mile 19.5 and I became an emotional wreck. I teared up and began to think about my entire journey to this point. I remembered sitting in her office and chatting with her about her first marathon and thinking, “Wow! If only I could be as strong as her.” And after 16 rough weeks of training I had made it and was running in my very first marathon.

I’m in the old phase of being young and the young phase of being old.

Can I just tell you – so far 30 has been SO good to me. It’s been a very weird week, but a good weird. I feel like my inner Tyler Durden is finally emerging!

but it’s only because you’re so worried about making bad decisions. you over think it and make a decision to do nothing

my roommate

This may be the most “A-Ha” thing anyone has ever said to me ever. I am truly my own worst enemy.

She went on to say:  being scared or playing it safe can rob you of some seriously amazing experiences. sure, sometimes it’ll come back to bite you. but even that is worth it, if you learn from it
