Well today was a first! In the 15 years that I have intermittently done yoga I’ve never gotten kicked in the head by another participant…until today!
We’d gone through a few sun salutations and on the last one I gently got bopped in the head. It startled me more than anything, so I took a few breaths in child’s pose before resuming. She at least had yoga sock things on so her bare feet didn’t make contact with my hair! #fitness #fitblr #yogamishaps

WW Weigh in

At my Weight Watchers weigh in I was “only” up +1.4 pounds since my last WW weigh in the week before. Glad to see the large “gain” was only a blip and I’ve been getting my “blue dot days” all week.

Someone at my WW meeting read a sentence from a rower’s magazine that said exercise is not how people should try to lose weight, exercise should be to get strong. I think that mindset shift for me since joining weight watchers has been most powerful.

This is my 3000th post!

That’s crazy. I started this wild ride on January 3, 2010 and have been writing about “measuring life” ever since. That averages to 353 posts a year (I’ve certainly had years with counts higher and lower than that, but it tracks). I don’t really post on the weeks much, but I try to write a few times a week and generally more than 1 post a day when I do post.

In these almost 8.5 years I have NOT MISSED A MONTH of writing – that’s amazing, but I do admit I had some lean months here and there, but I always kept coming back.

We close my 12 step program meeting by saying “Keep coming back, it works if you work it and work it ‘cause you’re worth it.” I think that applies here too.

The more I give of myself in this space the more I get back. Thanks for being a part of this journey whether you’ve been here for nearly 3,000 posts or just 3.

I’m looking forward to seeing how I can expand this part of my life.
