It’s amazing how when I started this blog weight loss was how I measured my success. These days I measure it by my strength and how hard I can push my body.

I was thinking about this change while I was in spin class being “sweaty fabulous” to quote the instructor. I was pushing my body as hard as I was not to burn extra calories, but because I could. I liked looking in the mirror from time to time and catching my bicep or calf flex as it worked haaaard.

Just got home from a 19 mile run.

Ran it in 3:45:51 – so an 11:53ish average mile pace.

With the exception of my GU walking breaks I ran the whole thing and felt good all things considered.

I was also pretty happy with my fuel belt. The weight doesn’t bother me as much as I thought, but I’m still fiddling with where is best for me to wear it in terms of waist/hips/somewhere between.

I came home and foam rolled for the first time in a long time. I also discovered a GIAGANTOR blister on my right big toe.

All in all a very successful run. Now I sit with my lower half covered in IcyHot.

Last night I purchased what I hope will end up being my MARATHON OUTFIT.

The shorts are just a new pair of Nike compression shorts, however I spent A LOT of time debating the top.

I went with this beaut because it has 2 pockets in the back and it’s BRIGHT. I don’t have any yellow running shirts so I’m excited about this one. Plus I hope it will make it easier for my friends to spot me.

I’d like to get like sticky letters to put my name on my shirt – but I’d prefer them not be permanent. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hydration belt – PURCHASED.

I tried on a few and jumped/jogged around in all of them. This one is velcro and fit well. I also like that I was able to adjust the bottles to lay sideways so I don’t graze my arms/elbows on them. I’m taking my belt for a spin tomorrow for a 5 miler!

PS – this biotch was $45!

1/2

Today’s my half birthday and I am scheduled to run 13 miles, but I’m adding the .1 so I can run a half marathon on my half birthday!

*it’s 70 degrees here today?! umm it’s February, not August!
