Morning Time

A friend of mine recently referred to the “Morning Skinnies.” I had no clue what she was talking about. She went on to say how it’s how you feel and your body looks in the morning after not eating since the night before.

It’s not the best mindframe, but it did get me thinking. I enjoy the “Morning Soreness.” You know the day after a great work out and your body is recovered/recovering and you just feel STRONGER.

It’s those few minutes first thing in the morning when I am not distracted by everything else and can just think about how my body feels in that moment.

I love feeling stronger and fitter and less weighed down by fat (as opposed to “skinny”).

Take time one morning this week it listen to your body…

Push Ups Please

I finished day 6 of 30DS today (and a 4 mile outdoor run with the garmin – who i think i’m naming gary) ANYWAY. I realized today that I can sorta do a push up 6 days in to Shred. I have NEVER been able to do a push up – even a girl modified push up. But weirdly enough after 5 days of Shred and giving as much as I could each time push ups were required I actually have a half-decent form. Imagine if one day I could do real push up and do claps between them – that’s the dream (isn’t it?)

Garmin Love

This is the beginning of a beautiful relationship…

I took my Garmin out for a quick run last night (after SREDDING) and it was great. I loved using it during my run (more accurate than my Nike+), but I really loved coming home and getting all kinds of stats. The wireless logging of info is great. I’m excited to play with the virtual running buddy function as well a other training options.

How can I import certain stats from my Garmin home page?

30DS Question

This may be a silly question, but I was planning on doing each level of the 30 day shred for 10 days before moving up. Is that was those of you who did it did? Also when you moved up a level did you do level 1 AND 2 or just 2?

Oh and I weighed my makeshift weights – a jar of tomato sauce and a large can of canned pumpkin – both are 2.2 lbs!
