I’m Baaaaaaack

My Mantra:

I don’t care if it hurts. I want to have control. I want a perfect body. I want a perfect soul.

Life has throw me a few curveballs lately and my head wasn’t in the right place to work on my body so the past few weeks I have been focused on improving my spiritual health. The boyfriend and I have been going to church the past 3 out of 4 weeks. A co-worker also gave me a daily devotion book that I have found a lot of comfort in.

Today I finally am ready to focus back on my body. I went to yoga today which was a great way of combining my body with my soul. I also did a mile on the treadmill to ease my body back into things.

I felt great. I have a renewed dedication and the mindset to get things done.

Mind. Body. Spirit.

The future is no place to place your better days.

I don’t even like Dave Matthews (I actually loathe him), but lately a few of his songs have been speaking to me. There are actually some good lyrics mixed in all that terribleness…who knew!

The Auburn Creed

The Auburn Creed is a unifying set of beliefs and principles common to all Auburn students, faculty, and alumni. The creed embodies the spirit of Auburn and is reflected in every member of the Auburn family.

I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore I believe in work, hard work.

I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and hands to work skillfully.

I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.

I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.

I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.

I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.

I believe in my country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by “doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.”

And because the Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

I bolded the parts that I feel directly relate to the fitblr community and leading a healthy lifestyle in general.

Tumblr Tuesday

I don’t always participate in Tumblr Tuesday, but this week I’d like to recognize Roadto224. Let’s talk about why he’s so awesome shall we:

  • He’s been very supportive of not only me, but other fitblrs
  • He ordered a license plate with his username (when are you gonna commit to a tattoo like me??)
  • He does community theatre – I’m a theatre nerd myself, but sadly don’t have time for it these days. It’s impressive that you MAKE time for it on top of work, family and fitness!
  • Oh and he’s kicking ass and taking names ALREADY

I’m looking forward to following your Road to 224. I am not always the best at leaving comments, but I’m reading and I’m cheering for you!

Thankful

What a year. Last year at this time I was a different person, I was such a mess making one bad decision after another.

I love life right now. I’ve never felt more happy and alive. “Change your body, change your life” is on a few motivational posters at my gym and it’s SO true.

I am so thankful for YOU. This fitblr community has been the best thing that happened to me this year.

Happy Thanksgiving and Turkey Trotting to those of you running one – I have my 3 mile trot tomorrow at 8am!
