God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. But God, grant me the courage not to give up on what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless.

The Serenity Prayer.

I dedicate this to  E over at One-Twenty-Five.

Welcome to your quarterlife crisis. It’s a crazy ride, but I find peace in the chaos as well!

Love the top half of the quote – it makes me push harder and get stronger, as opposed to cry.

I’ve never seen it in picture form before. Sadly this picture is floating around the thinspo world, I wanted to alter it to make it appropriate for me.

People already notice me. I’m already special.

I’m just trying to take it to the next level. Perfect isn’t the best word, I just want to be the best version of myself. MIND.BODY.SOUL.

This could be the year.
This could be the moment
you’ve been waiting your whole life to show
the world the cards you’re holding.

It’s one life,
One dream,
One spark.
It’s one chance,
One move,
One shot.
It’s on you
Be cool,
Be real.

This could be the year.
This could be the moment
you’ve been waiting your whole life to show
the world the cards you’re holding.

It’s one life,
One wish,
One fire.
It’s one choice,
One voice,
Saying get higher.

This could be the year.
This could be the moment
you’ve been waiting your whole life to show
the world that you are ready.

Hold your head up high and touch the sky,
‘cause you know this is everything, everything.
Take your shot it’s all you’ve gotta be.

This could be the year.
This could be moment.
This could be the year, I know it.

2010 has been MY YEAR and I plan on owning 2011 and beyond as well!

Getting Loved on…

One phrase that southerns say (especially my darling little southern sorority girls) is “love on.” Sample sentence: “I want to be an orientation leader and just love on all the freshmen.” I always find it to be an awkward, but cute sentiment. Well yesterday I have to say I was overwhelmed by all the “likes” and comments that had you all loving on me!

I just wanted to share myself with you guys, take down a silly wall between us. It honestly feels very liberating (yes still a tad scary, but I’ll stick with liberating). I didn’t post the vlog or my face to fish compliments, but I will certainly take them happily!

I should also note that Mr. 365 OF COURSE asked if he could post duel before and afters of us. I KNEW he would (I actually wasn’t sure if he’d ask or just post them, I’m glad he asked). I not ready yet to show my former pudge face – which honestly is a face I barely recgonize anymore, but soon my pets…soon. 😛

Full Marathon Plans – For Real

You can blame tumblr for eating my post and I didn’t get to fix it before I left for more interviews.

So my 2nd half marathon is this Saturday which got me thinking I need to start looking ahead. Having something to train for has been a KEY factor in my success. I have decided my next challenge to take on is a full marathon and wait until spring and warmer weather to train for a triathlon. With that being said I am seriously considering running the Los Angeles Marathon on March 20, 2011.

Some of the reasoning for this is:

  • I will have plenty of time to train and be ready
  • The weather should be favorable in LA in late March
  • If I’m still working here – it would fall on the tail end of spring break so I could take time to be in LA a few days prior to the race.
  • I’d get to visit a good friend of mine who is a writer for How I Met Your Mother. Last year I toured the set and he gave me an open invitation to come back for a filming and maybe even get to be an extra!
  • Finally my UGW date is March 21, 2011 the first day of spring and what a great way to celebrate my “rebirth.”

There are a number of factors to consider – like if I will still be in my current job in March. However I really think all of these things other factors are quite serendipitous. I also feel like if I got a new job between now and then I would mention I have a registered for a full marathon and would hope folks would be understanding. However if I plan to do this, I want to register sooner rather than later so spots don’t fill up and so I can’t back out 😛

PS – also David Cook (who won American Idol in ‘08 and is my future husband) lives in LA and he really got me motivated to run my first 5K – he has run Race4Hope the past 2 years in DC to raise $ for brain cancer awareness….he lost his brother to brain cancer the day before the race in 2009. So I kinda want to like get to his “people” and share my success story and maybe have him cheer me on…is that lame? I’m lame.

Cam Newton is my new strengthspo!

Seriously guys week after week I go to the Auburn games and I (along with everyone else in the stadium) are in awe of our quarterback Cam.

He is the definition of an ATHLETE.

He is 6’6 and weighs 250 pounds, but don’t let his size deceive you this boy’s got SPEED. He is quick, agile and tough.

My goal is to track him down on campus and get a picture with him. I did cross in front of him in a cross walk while he was on his infamous scooter last week, but I need a pic with our future Heisman Trophy Winner!
