Lose the doubt that becomes a wall. Use it as a doorway to push against and discover who you are and what you believe

I love a new year – it’s a good “excuse” to refresh your routine.
I went shopping yesterday after I posted my WIW yesterday which made me feel crappy, but also made me snap to reality and refocus.
- Bought 2 calendars – 1 wall calendar (which has awesome positivity themed months with phrases and art) to see a month at a glance of how many days a month I work out and to log my WIW. and 1 daily agenda calendar to do a check in how I ate that day (not a food log, but an accountability log)
- Went to GNC (and joined their gold club membership) to buy protein powder which I used to do back when I first lost weight and trainer Dan had been nagging me about it too
- Restocked on my AM and PM wrinkle creams haha
- Did a super healthy grocery shopping
- Prepped food for this week’s lunch
- Today I am going to buy a daily multivitamin – suggestions for one that won’t hurt my tummy please…
Annual
Went to my annual “lady parts tune up” appointment at the obgyn this morning.
I put off my first ever annual appointment way too long, but since my first annual I have been like clockwork each year.
It’s not scary and doctors have always been really positive especially given how active and self aware of my body I am (and most of you are).
So if you haven’t been or you are putting off this is a gentle nudge to book your appointment and go.
Quick 3
1. I’m at work eating baby food at my desk – BANANA – don’t judge me, damn teeth
2. My post wisdom teeth surgery diet has make me constipated for the first time in my life. It’s horrible, I’ll leave it at that. I have new found sympathy for my sister who deals with that regularly.
3. I just joined a competitive division cornhole social league that starts in January. We need a name. Who has a funny suggestion – that has nothing to do with constipation please…too soon?
Chipmunk Cheeks
My face is hella swollen today from my wisdom teeth surgery, especially my right side. I look like Eddie Murphy in meet the Klumps.
It’s weird how my self esteem dropped and it’s literally upsetting to look at my face.
Josh took me to lunch to get out of the house. I had a scarf wrapped around my face because I felt so hideous, but he was sweet about it mostly haha. It was nice to see him and get of the house, plus he got a free lunch as a veteran which was pretty cool and it was nice to honor him.
Amnesia
So on 3 different occasions this week I’ve told people when I get my wisdom teeth out I’m getting amnesia, when I meant to say anesthesia!
Surgery is in 1 hour.
Thanks for all the messages earlier this week I am stocked up on: applesauce, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, ice cream, pudding, soup, protein shakes and BANANA BABY FOOD (a personal favorite of my sister and me until we were in like middle school)
Wisdom Teeth – GTFO
At 29 years old I’m getting my wisdom teeth out.
This Friday.
All 4.
This will be my first surgery of any sort EVER.
I’ve never been under before and I’m scared.
I have had wisdom tooth pain sporadically the past 12-18 months. Nothing too overwhelming until the week of the LA marathon in March when I was in blinding pain for about a week. Let’s cue to a few weeks ago – aka about a week or so before the Marine Corps Marathon – when I was in the same blinding pain.
Since I wasn’t about to make a cross country move like I was in March, I went to my dentist and then get referred to an oral surgeon.
As far as I know they aren’t impacted, but my bottom left is erupted and that’s the one that caused so much trouble this time.
The neck-aches the past two weeks have been horrid and I’m currently battling a sinus infection, all of which I believe are connected to my teeth.
As sacred as I am about surgery, I’m hopeful that months and months of pressure and pain will be relieved.
My roommate is taking Friday off to take me to the surgeon and help me recoop.
Any helpful suggestions to ease recovery would be appreciated.
Mall Massage
Yesterday afternoon (post race) I went to the mall and between walking to the metro, walking around the mall and oh yeah running a half marathon I was sore.
The little massage booth? pen? you know cluster of massage chairs was calling to me. I actually saw the automatic massage chairs and thought about using one, but they were full. I ended up getting a mall massage 10 min back/shoulders and 10 min feet for $22.
BEST. MONEY. I. EVER. SPENT.
The masseuse was NOT kidding, it was pretty magical!
Manhandled
Just got a massage by a male masseuse. Holy hell I wanted to take him home with me!
Best massage ever. I’m already thinking about how great it will e halfway into training and after the marathon!
