Sitting “pretty”  at 193.0 this week

I’m glad it’s stable, it was jumping around the week before (like a liiiiiitttle too close to starting with a 2).

I worked out yesterday for the first time since I got was taken down by a cold. I need to get my ass into gear!

5 years and counting

I started this blog to document my effort to lose weight and get healthy 5 year ago this week. My 2010 self wrote:

I’m committed to changing my diet and lifestyle this year.
I have been on a half ass diet for most of my adult life, that has yielded limited or temporary results.

Well I’m dedicated this year. I’m testing my self, my mind, my body and my soul.

Thank you 2010 self for having the courage to start. It was scary and uncertain, but the decision/resolution (in the truest sense of the word) has lead me to a life of health and happiness. The changes I started making 5 years ago still continues. Many come with successes, but there are still times I falter or fail.

As a starting point for 2015 I’m on a mission to lose the weight I let myself gain over the holidays. I have a few spring races on my radar and eager to see what big challenge I want to take on this year – an ultra team Ragnar? An Oly tri? a century ride? Perhaps all of those things and more!

Practically the past month I’ve been holding stead at 188, today I was 186.6. I’m halfway through my 3 day Dr. Oz cleanse and feel pretty great. Here’s hoping that confident will balance out a number I don’t love.

Today: 190.4

2 weeks ago: 187.4

WRONG direction. Seeing 190 crushed me this morning, but I know I have been lackadaisical lately. Work is very stressful, yet my personal life has never been better.

I need to find balance. I also need to fit in a bridesmaid dress in 5 weeks. Well it fits, but I’d like to be able to breathe whilst wearing it!

Despite back to back triathlons I’ve been a little lax in August between my birthday and work craziness. I have Ragnar next week and a marathon relay in October, so running will be back to being my primary focus. I did restart my BodyPump/Insanity Hybrid program yesterday as well. I really enjoyed it and it’s results, but triathlon training made it hard to keep up multiple workouts.

This weekend I’m flying up to New Hampshire for a bridal shower/bachelorette. While I’m up there I’m picking up my bridesmaid dress. The dress that I didn’t get fitted for in the store since I live in VA and had to “make an educated guess” on what size to order based on my measurements which gave me a 3 size span – so I opted for the middle. Getting this dress and trying it on, will determine my course of exercise for the next 5 weeks until the wedding. EEEKK!
