I’m glad I’m turning to exercise instead of food at this time of heartache.
I had a 12 hour meeting from 2pm to 2am last night and ate all the food. It was a student leader selections meeting – yes we’re crazy, but we have a great process. Anyway it’s tradition for old leaders to bring treats to staff during these meetings and let’s just say I ate the world. Some of which I regret, but most of it I don’t (homemade pizza rolls, oreo balls, brownies, spicy fried cheese cubes, corn nuggets, etc.).
I only got 4 hours of sleep last night and in my rush didn’t step on the scale. On Monday I was 184.8 which was AWESOME. I’m confident that by next Wednesday I should be around there if not a touch lower.

I’ve been working hard the past 2 months and I love seeing solid losses back to back. I’m down nearly 10 pounds since I got refocused.
I also don’t have much of an appetite post-breakup, I’m eating because I need to, not because I’m particularly hungry. I’m finding comfort in running and music as opposed to food or wine.

I know over the past few months I’ve had a bunch of new followers and I thought I’d use this post to touch on my weight loss goals. I should mention that this blog first started it focused on weight loss, but I’m much more focused on health, strength and races these days.
However my weight is still an important factor. Many of you know in November 2007 my father died a few days after his gastric bypass surgery (which was unnecessary in my opinion based on his height and weight). In Jan 2010 I was ready to make big changes in my life and was determined to never have my weight become a factor in my death.
At 5’9.5 I need to be ~170 to be considered on the high end of the “healthy” BMI range. I chose 168 as a Goal Weight because I like the idea/sound of 160s and 169 would make me giggle too much.
My Ultimate Goal Weight is 155. It would put me smack dab in the middle of the healthy BMI range with a ~22.
Weight Left to Lose: GW – 18.8/ UGW – 31.8
Total Weight Lost: 35.8
It’s frustrating to see numbers on a scale you know so well. I was in the 180s last year at this time. I got down to 175 at my absolute lowest on this journey. As thrilled as I am to be back on track, it’s hard to get excited about weight I’ve already lost (and should have done a better job keeping off).
I just need to stay focused, be positive, and keep moving forward!

Measurements. The first number was 1 week into Shred, the second number was today after I completed Shred, followed by the change. My waist and upper arms seem like the big winners. Regardless I am STRONGER and FITTER.

Damn shark week. I actually saw 187.8 on Saturday before Jaws came to town. Here’s hoping to see what the scale looks like next week – which will also be after I completed the 30 DS and retake measurements!

Scale you are evil.
I am stronger, fitter and toner now that I’m nearly done with level 2 of shred in addition to all my running mileage.
I can’t wait to do measurements when I’m done with shred. I’m sure I’ll like those numbers!

I took measurements today – for the first time since MARCH 31 – so I can try and get an idea of the difference shred will make for me.
Numbers are a crazy thing. I had been feeling pretty good about my body the past few days – and I still do. However I have a lot of work to do to get back to my March/Nov measurements (lowest to date) and then keep trimming down.

I’m surprised the loss wasn’t bigger, simply due to how hard I worked this week. However my stomach is a NSV. From my boobs to my belly button my stomach looks great. Overall my whole body is feeling more toned and I feel STRONGER.
I need to get back to measurements.
