FAIL. I deserve it. I ate like a crazy person last week. Seriously like 100 chocolate covered oreo balls last Wednesday night. Then I ate, drank and was merry this weekend with my sister. Plus I didn’t work out a lot last week and have my period.

I wasn’t going to post my WIW because I was ashamed, but honesty and holding yourself accountable is important. It only sets a bigger fire under my ass to hit it hard for next week’s WIW.

WIW – 170s Edition

You guys I almost cried this morning. 170s! When I started this journey in January, NEVER did I think I’d get this far. I hoped it, but I never thought it. Even when I joined you all on tumblr in May and SAW you all doing this – I never thought I’d get here.

To think that I’m 11.8 pounds from being in the “NORMAL” range for my height is CRAZY!

There is something different about being down 40+ pounds than any other weight bracket I’ve experienced thus far, but I think once I can say I’ve lost 50 pounds it will really hit me. I think because that will really be the point that I stop being “fat” and start being “normal” “healthy” “fit.” I think that’s when my head is really going to not be able to wrap itself around my new new body.

Regardless of your “number” today or anyday – you are making changes to your life for the better and your body will catch up!

YAY after weeks of barely moving it’s lovely to see you 183. I’m on the cusp of so many big things right now: losing 40 pounds, being in the 170s and let’s not forget running my first half marathon on Sunday. Life is GOOD.

I’m really excited about taking measurements tomorrow because I know despite the lack of major movement on my scale this month my body is changing and taking shape (as an athlete).

UGW in 6 months?

I just realized that Tuesday was September 21 – which is 6 months from March 21 which is my “Ultimate Goal Weight Ultimate Goal Date” (try saying that 3 times fast) that I set a little while back.  March 21 is the start of Spring and I want to emerge from my formerly fat cocoon then too!

I am 29.4 pounds from my UGW of 155 pounds. It’s taken me nearly 9 months to lose 38 pounds. It’s certainly possible to do – is it probable I’m not sure given my battle with plateaus. HOWEVER in spite of that I think coupled with triathlon training and full marathon training (I’m hoping to run one in April and then the Dublin marathon next October) that in 6 months time I couldwill be 155 pounds with a BMI of 22. 6 months – that’s nothing (which mades me think of BenDoesLife’s post about what got him started).

It’s just frustrating because I saw 185.0 on FRIDAY. However I’m on my period and I know that’s part of the problem. I know that next week I’m going to put up some big numbers in terms of loss and also that my measurements will be great because just LOOKING at me I look different and slimmer.

I’m just gonna keep on fighting the good fight!

WIW – I ate like I had 48 hours to live edition

In August I was dropping weight like it was my job. Now I’ve hit a September slump. I’ve been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds for almost 3 weeks. The fact that I ate my face off this weekend didn’t help. I’m honestly shocked I didn’t gain more since like my title implies – I ate like I had 48 hours to live. Plus I only worked out 3 days last week as opposed to my usual 5.

I just need to change up what I’m eating, stay FAR AWAY from sweets and continue my awesome exercise routine. I’m planning 5 running days and 1 spin day (today) this week with some strentgh training thrown in as well. I really would LOVE to be in the 170s for my ½ marathon even if I’m 179.9 – I’ll take it.

Last night I ran 5 miles of intervals of 5.3 and 6.6 in 51:13. I was quite impressed with myself. My intervals were:

  • Mile 1: 1 min at 5.3 and 30 sec at 6.6 repeat for duration of mile
  • Mile 2: 1 min at 5.3 and 1 min at 6.6                 “
  • Mile 3: 30 sec at 5.3 and 30 sec at 6.6              ”
  • Mile 4: 1 min at 5.3 and 1 min at 6.6                 "
  • Mile 5: 1 min at 5.3 and 30 sec at 6.6               "

My half marathon is under a month away and how AWESOME would it be if I was in the 170s. However I haven’t worked out in 2 days (due to my lack of a toenail and work), but I’m headed back to spin today and hope to get a 4 miler in a well. This is a crazy, busy week for me so I am going to be squeezing in runs/workouts wherever I can find time. Even if it means waking up early and running before work (yuck).

WIW – Tuesday Edition

Since I’m going out with the professor tonight and don’t normally drink the night before a weigh in, I weighed myself today.

Last week:188.8

This week: 186.4

Change: -2.4

I was up last week, so it’s nice to see I’m down another .2 from my WIW two weeks ago. I’m down 4.6 for the month and considering I was on vacation whereI didn’t eat well and didn’t work out much I’m thrilled.

Also I ran 85.9 miles this month. I’m hoping to break 100 miles in September as I make my last training push before my half marathon.

#Fail

After making the same thing for breakfast for like 3 months you would think I would have a handle on on it. You thought wrong.

I forgot to mix in greek yogurt with my steel cut oats and berries. I looked at it for a while when I got to work and it took a minute to figure out what was wrong.

I even JUST bought 2 huge “vats” of Fage this week.

Disappointing.

Even more disappointing my WIW

It’s a loss from week to week, but I’m annoyed it’s a gain from Monday. Monday could have been a fluke or it could be that I didn’t go “potty” this morning. I still feel great and I know numbers aren’t everything.

After a weekend with a few glasses of wine and bites of dark chocolate I wanted to jump on the scale this morning.

Previous weight: 189.6

Current weight: 186.6

Total Lost: 36 pounds

I dropped 3 pounds since Wednesday! And now I can use my Nike+ ipod sensor which I am excited about (35lbs reward)! Aside from wine and dark chocolate I ate really well this weekend. I took Friday and Saturday off exercise wise for my body to rest and then did 6 miles yesterday – I had every intention to do 10 miles, but it was SO humid and the route I picked didn’t have as many sidewalks as I hoped. I really try not to run in the street and therefore it threw me off.

180s as beautiful as you are to see…I won’t miss you once you’re gone!
