WIW – milestone edition

Wow look at me go!

I’ve lost 10.5 lbs since 1/17 which is when I started my 3 day Beachbody refresh cleanse. Then I started weight watchers 2 weeks later. Weight watchers is making a big difference in the choices I am making related to food and overall being mindful. Example I had one Twix mini yesterday and I ate it slowly and really let myself enjoy and savor it.

Plus I’m working out 5-6 days a week from fitness class to running to yoga to even a 20-30min walk if that’s only option. I feel amazing and people are starting to notice it too – I got a few texts/comments after I posted the race picture with T on Sunday!

Ran my 2nd 5K of 2017 in my quest to run one 5K a month this year!

I started back to interval training a few weeks ago and clearly my work is paying off since I only walked (at a brisk pace with 2 friends) my January 5K in 51 minutes. This also was a  much bigger more organized race than January. It felt good to be back, I haven’t done a race since May.

I used my Running (For Weight Loss) app and tried my best to stick to their recommend walk/run/sprints. Sometimes I walked longer other times I ran longer. All and all I felt good and strong the whole time. I wore my running watch, but only to keep an eye on my pace – I didn’t want to push to hard (like I tend to do during races). I didn’t have a goal time, my training run was pre-schedule for 41 minutes and based on my previous runs on just under 3 miles – I knew I could do it under 40.

I’m going to just keep focusing on small gains each other, I want to get faster and stronger, but while also not aggravating my injury.

Weekend Funsies

First I gotta say in the new routine I am developing Thursdays are my 100% rest day and I find comfort in knowing after 4 days of work and working out the evening is mine to just chill and get my mind right to fit in weekend workouts.

Friday: lunchtime yoga at work and treadmill intervals after work

Saturday: 90min spin class with my friend M at her fancy gym (I already can predict my sore ass haha).

Sunday: 5K with T and some friends. It’s a “Love the Run You’re With” Valentines themed race. I then head to some Virginia wineries with some other friends and who would have guessed when we planned it it would be nearly 70 degree out!

Anytime you can mix working out and being social is a total win in my book!

KILLING IT! I’m keeping my own WIWs on the blog since my Weight Watchers weight is while I’m dressed and if it’s my work meeting it will be at noon with a belly of breakfast and a snack.

Either way down is down. However with my voyage back to onderland it appears I dropped from 32 smart points a day to 31. HISS! Kidding. I’m finding these eating guidelines to be really helpful in me making a better decision.

Even yesterday for an example Tim didn’t want his last chicken tender and he asked me if I wanted it,  under most circumstances I would have ate it, but I said no thanks I don’t have any points left for it. That is truly a NSV.

Outdoor miles

I am gearing up to do my interval training outside at 5pm once I wrap my telework day. I haven’t done a training run outside since September – in fact that was the run that made me give up my Army 10 miler bib and really focus on taking care of my heel.

I did power walk a 5K last month outdoors with friends, but a solo training run is my zone and I’m excited for beautiful 60 degree weather in Feb in DC to see how i feel. I have another 5K this weekend that I plan on run/walking as well. Most of my intervals lately have averaged about 2.75 miles so I’m feel good.
