Weekend Funsies

First I gotta say in the new routine I am developing Thursdays are my 100% rest day and I find comfort in knowing after 4 days of work and working out the evening is mine to just chill and get my mind right to fit in weekend workouts.

Friday: lunchtime yoga at work and treadmill intervals after work

Saturday: 90min spin class with my friend M at her fancy gym (I already can predict my sore ass haha).

Sunday: 5K with T and some friends. It’s a “Love the Run You’re With” Valentines themed race. I then head to some Virginia wineries with some other friends and who would have guessed when we planned it it would be nearly 70 degree out!

Anytime you can mix working out and being social is a total win in my book!

WIW

Last Week: 200.2

This Week: 197.8

Change: -2.4

KILLING IT! I’m keeping my own WIWs on the blog since my Weight Watchers weight is while I’m dressed and if it’s my work meeting it will be at noon with a belly of breakfast and a snack.

Either way down is down. However with my voyage back to onderland it appears I dropped from 32 smart points a day to 31. HISS! Kidding. I’m finding these eating guidelines to be really helpful in me making a better decision.

Even yesterday for an example Tim didn’t want his last chicken tender and he asked me if I wanted it,  under most circumstances I would have ate it, but I said no thanks I don’t have any points left for it. That is truly a NSV.

Outdoor miles

I am gearing up to do my interval training outside at 5pm once I wrap my telework day. I haven’t done a training run outside since September – in fact that was the run that made me give up my Army 10 miler bib and really focus on taking care of my heel.

I did power walk a 5K last month outdoors with friends, but a solo training run is my zone and I’m excited for beautiful 60 degree weather in Feb in DC to see how i feel. I have another 5K this weekend that I plan on run/walking as well. Most of my intervals lately have averaged about 2.75 miles so I’m feel good.

I went to a local Weight Watchers meeting this morning since I am teleworking and have to miss my Weight Watchers @ Work meeting on Thursday due to a conference. First the Weight Watchers location was so cute, the set up, the meet space, the food products – loved it all. To my surprise there were like 22 other ladies there for the meeting ranging in age from late 20s – late 60s I’d say.

I actually really liked being in a room with strangers, BUT I also like connecting with work people at those meetings (esp since I’ve only been in my job for 7 months).

The real news is that I dropped 4.6 lbs since my last meeting which was Thursday aka the day I started tracking. KA-BOOM. Couple that with my .8 drop from the week before and I early earned my 5lb badge! Now I know new eating regimes generally produce great results out the gate, but that has so not usually been the case for me I’ve always been slow and steady. Glad to be back in ONEderland and looking forward to looking at my food choices differently.

Swaps

I was horrified to discover that 2 tbs of half-n-half is 2 points (esp if I rather put 4 tbs in mine). I’ve never been one to put a sweetener of any kind in my coffee, but my parents were cream only people so therefore I became one.

I do like to lessen the bite of coffee bitterness with cream, more so with hot coffee than iced coffee.

I’m going to (re)try fat free half-n-half. Any other alternatives you all prefer?

Keep in mind I don’t want anything sweet and I generally rather have a flavored coffee over a flavored creamer.

I got an iced coffee at dunks and opted for a medium (over my usual large) and got regular milk which I generally do when DD iced, but sometimes I say cream absentmindedly.

Weight Watchers Official

I got my book.

I got my online access.

Shared my “why” in the meeting.

Got my point allocations –

32 Daily points with 42 Weekly points.

Logging my meals today (already logged 30 before dinner – oops).

We haven’t dug into Fit points yet (she said we will in week 4, she just wants us to focus on nutrition right now), so we shall see.

Dropped 0.8 from last week’s weight in at the open house to today’s weight in – which is like 3 lbs more than when I weigh myself first thing naked in the morning, but that’s fine – as long as I’m losing then I’m winning!!
