I’m officially down 20 pounds since I started WW in Feb 2017!
Since recommitting after Christmas 2017 I’ve lost (or in some cases re-lost) 13 pounds!
It’s crazy how many more calories I burn doing Body Combat (Workout) over Body Pump (Weights). My sister who is an instructor for both classes at NYSCs said I need to up my weights in Body Pump to at least push me closer to 400 calories.
The scale has been stalled out for a few weeks now, but that’s okay. I’m looking forward to doing monthly measurements this weekend. Plus I can SEE my body looking different, I FEEL different in my clothes, and I am PUSHING myself to lift heavier in Body Pump.
Hey, can we make Toot Your Own Horn Tuesdays? It really rolls off the tongue.
Come on, guys. Toot your own horns! Let’s see what you’re working with!
Ya girl is quick to toot her own horn!
This is a great idea – share you success!!
Holly crap – you both are awesome! Can I join in on this?
Wow, awesome work everyone. This is me now.
I love this!! You guys rock!! Here is me.
Join the progress train – we have snacks! 🙂
I don’t have a ton of pics of my highest weight, because I refused to take anything but selfies the majority of the time. Sometimes it’s hard remember how far I’ve really come!
Here’s mine.
Amazing what insight, perspective and hard work can do.
That photo of me in the purple shirt is from Thanksgiving Eve 2009, I remember seeing that picture was the last straw. I also remember I had to wear stretchy pants because I couldn’t fit in any of my jeans.
Yummy Egg Bake that I put a Weight Watchers spin on
Warning: I am not a “recipe” girl, but here’s what I did haha
I used an 8×8 pan, heated the oven to 350 (then raised to 375 because it was taking too long). I did the 2 ingredient dough – 1c self rising flour and 1 c 0% greek yogurt. I sprayed the pan with olive oil spray and spread the dough across the bottom of the pan. I then took liquid eggs and filled the plan halfway up. then topped with peppers, onions, and 1 c Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Crumble + salt and pepper. I baked it for about 30-40 min until eggs in the middle firmed up. Points for the whole pan = 12 points for dough + 5 points for 1 c turkey sausage crumbles. Cut into ¼ for~4 point breakfast.
You could also add cheese when baking. Dish reheats nicely in the microwave, I just had a ¼ for breakfast today!
Post workout fruit salad. Full disclosure: after I took this picture I topped it with a heaping spoonful of Cool Whip Lite (it just wouldn’t have photographed as pretty)
Yesterday was the first week of the Urban Hiking class I am teaching for 5 weeks at the University I work for.
I felt like I was “legit” and the students saw me as such. I know I have the skills, knowledge, and experience, but it’s still a weird identity shift to see myself as a qualified outdoor educator and enthusiast since it’s only something I’ve gotten into in the last few years.
We spend the first hour of class doing some icebreakers, going over the syllabus, discussion health/safety, and expectations. It was a great time, I enjoyed 1/1 conversations with different students throughout the 3.9 miles we logged! I’m excited to #OptOutside for the next few weeks with them!
Weight Loss Acknowledgment
I’ve hit the point where my weight loss since Christmas is noticeable. Two times this week a female colleague (both of whom I’m “work friendly” with) commented on my weight loss, but without saying those exact words. They both also noted “not that you weren’t fit before.” I try to accept the compliment and help them feel less awkward giving it because ultimately I appreciate it. My go to is “thanks, it feels good to be back down to “fighting weight””
This northern Virginia winter wonderland means that work is cancelled, but fitness classes at my gym are cancelled tonight too. Yay no work, but womp, I was going to go to Body Combat and Pump.
I guess this means I need to dust off my workout DVDs and see what I can do at home. I’m thinking each level of Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred and some yoga with Adrienne on YouTube.
