WIW

Today: 200.6

Last week: 199.2

I don’t like seeing a 2–, but I’m not shocked. I ate and drank my face off in Chicago plus I just started my period.

But the good news is that I did make it to the Gold’s Gym near the new house yesterday and went to Body Pump. I also joined the campus rec center here yesterday and went to lunchtime yoga today!

On top of all that I have an appt with a new podiatrist this afternoon to deal with my stupid plantar fasciitis.

I’m getting my act together…

WIW – I have a plan edition

Today: 199.2

I gained 5 pounds this month, but like I’ve said before this month has been abnormally hectic.

BUT I have a plan.

  • I am signing up for the on campus (I work at a college) gym membership which is stupid cheap. I have already blocked out yoga 3x week on my calendar over lunch and there is cardio strength class after work on Thursdays.
  • I have yet to get the Golds gym in my new town, but I also plan to get there next week. I was really hoping the AM fitness class schedule would work better for me (like a 6:30am class, but 5:45am is too damn early), but there are some good evening and weekend options.
  • With the temperature finally calming down I also NEED to get back to running. I have the Army 10 miler on Oct 9 – the goal is to be in shape to slooowly finish it injury free
  • I also booked a appt with my new PCP so I can get a referral for a new podiatrist because my poor heal has not been a happy camper for months (I also get up my semi-annual denist appt)
  • Oh and I have the Beach Body 3 day refresh which I plan to do when I get back from Chicago next week.

Work Out, Balance Out

In times of transition or “chaos” I have always found comfort in working out these past 6 years that I’ve been living that fit life (haha).

Thursday is my last day of work here, new job starts Monday, thinking of moving jobs/offices, moving houses, and all the details and planning that come with.

I have been seeking out time to run/work out/even walk just to get away from planning/thinking/feeling like I’m wasting time.

When I’m working out that is all I can really do. I can think, sure, but if I don’t have a pen to write down a thought or make a list it’s kind of moot for me during stressful times. I commit fully to the workout and let my mind take a break (which sometimes it can’t even do when I’m supposed to be sleeping).

Last week I got Body Pump in and a few runs/walks.

Since Sunday I’ve gotten a run in, walked, went to yoga, Body Pump, and plan on going to 2 more Body Pump classes and getting a run and/or bike ride in when I’m “off” on Friday.

Wooosaaaa

At my Oristand, standing desk. I need to get into using it for at least 90 min a day. Today is March 1, my commitment starts now!

Went to barre/pilates today at lunch! Yesterday I went to yoga at lunch and body pump after work. Body is feeling good after the 12 miles I ran on Sunday.

I have a 10K on Sunday which will be 2 weeks out from my half. And naturally I already have my eye on a local 10miler on 4/24.

Snow day(s)

Currently: Drinking a beer while reading the new Mindy Kaling book w/ a heated blanket on my lap and Fred at my side while T plays video games. Crockpot quinoa enchiladas are cooking. Other eats include: grilled cheese, soup, eggs, bacon, yogurt, chips and salsa. Other entertainment options include lots of Friday Night Lights, Jack Nicholson and/or Tom Cruise movies, and I brought Once on dvd with hopes of roping T into watching.

measuringlife:

Tonight I plan to run as many miles as I can stand on the treadmill (shooting for 6-8, but ugh treadmills).

T is buying supplies – I made him a shopping list and grouped things by where he’d find them in the store.

Tomorrow I plan on dropping Freddie and my stuff off at T’s apartment before work so in the case that we close early or snow on my commute I can just drive straight to his place as opposed to stopping by my place (which is not on the way) to get Freddie and my stuff. I figure I’ll add an extra 30 minutes to my morning commute as opposed to Lord know what to my evening commute (it took some people 2-3 hours to get home last night in 1 inch of snow who left after 6pm).

I also plan on bringing my sneakers and ipod so I can do stairs this weekend since leaving the apartment will not be likely. T’s building is 15 floors – I’m sure I could rack up quite a bit.

Update:

Ran 7 miles on the treadmill while listening to Serial!

T braved the stores and got 85% of the items on the shopping list, I was able to pick up the rest.

My college already announced it is closed for tomorrow so I can sleep in and drive to T’s. He has to work until noon.

I’m hoping to knock out 10,000 steps each day this weekend, even if it’s just climbing stairwells.

MA Miles

Next Tuesday night I’m headed out for ~40 hours in Boston thanks to JetBlue’s crazy sales last week.

T is going to be in Boston for work all next week and I had visions of tagging along to visit my bestie and her husband at their new place. At $44 each way (including taxes and fees) I couldn’t say no and how the flights worked out I’ll only miss 1.75 days of work (at what happens to be a very busy time).

I was in up in ME/MA in September for bestie’s wedding and managed to get my Maine miles in, but was too pooped for MA miles. So now I’m excited for the chance to cross MA off my list of states I’ve run in

Reset

Doing the Dr Oz 3 day smoothie cleanse. I do it 1-2x a year for a refresh or to feel good right before a big event. I needed to time it right so I won’t have an empty stomach going into NYE night! I also re-joined Golds Gym yesterday. In the 2 months since the Dublin Marathon I was far less motivated. I need more than running. There is a Golds .46 miles from my new place and I’ve always been happy with their classes and service – location is why I cancelled 1.5 years ago. So I’m back and went to bodypump yesterday. The plan is to run 3 days a week as part of a March half training (mostly likely Shamrock in VA Beach) and cross train 2-3x a week. I also am restarting shakeology again as of Monday ¼. No day, but today.
