WIW – the moment of truth

Today: 201.0

OKAY, I can handle that.

I was honestly preparing for something closer to 210.

The last time I weighed myself was September 7 and I was 200.6.

Earlier in 2016 my monthly weights were:

  • March: 194.9

  • April: 193.3
  • May:194.3
  • June: 193.2
  • July: 196
  • Aug: 194.2

Despite feeling like I’ve had fallen off the wagon since we moved in August it’s not insurmountable. I certainly am out of shape and lost “muscle” tone, but just like life you fall down 7 and stand up 8.

Went to yoga today at lunch and when I get home it’s day 3 of Shred!

Scale Fail

I have the Fitbit Aria scale which I love. I got it almost a year ago I think. I’ve been happy with it until I moved. Setting up the new wi-fi connection was a PROCESS. It involved a lot of message boards and other frustrated people in the same boat. However I did get it to sync, I guess that was 2 weeks ago because I went to weigh myself this morning (since I forgot to WIW) and it kept saying error. So when I get home I need to deal with troubleshooting that. WOMP WOMP

WIW

Today: 200.6

Last week: 199.2

I don’t like seeing a 2–, but I’m not shocked. I ate and drank my face off in Chicago plus I just started my period.

But the good news is that I did make it to the Gold’s Gym near the new house yesterday and went to Body Pump. I also joined the campus rec center here yesterday and went to lunchtime yoga today!

On top of all that I have an appt with a new podiatrist this afternoon to deal with my stupid plantar fasciitis.

I’m getting my act together…

WIW – I have a plan edition

Today: 199.2

I gained 5 pounds this month, but like I’ve said before this month has been abnormally hectic.

BUT I have a plan.

  • I am signing up for the on campus (I work at a college) gym membership which is stupid cheap. I have already blocked out yoga 3x week on my calendar over lunch and there is cardio strength class after work on Thursdays.
  • I have yet to get the Golds gym in my new town, but I also plan to get there next week. I was really hoping the AM fitness class schedule would work better for me (like a 6:30am class, but 5:45am is too damn early), but there are some good evening and weekend options.
  • With the temperature finally calming down I also NEED to get back to running. I have the Army 10 miler on Oct 9 – the goal is to be in shape to slooowly finish it injury free
  • I also booked a appt with my new PCP so I can get a referral for a new podiatrist because my poor heal has not been a happy camper for months (I also get up my semi-annual denist appt)
  • Oh and I have the Beach Body 3 day refresh which I plan to do when I get back from Chicago next week.

I never posted my July measurements, so here’s a delayed July and August. Hope to be back to regular posting later this month. My Birthday is tomorrow, we move everything into the house on Friday and I leave for girls beach vacation for a few days on Friday night.

Year to Year

June 24, 2015: 204.6
June 24, 2016: 190.7

Change: -13.9

Last year I couldn’t believe I let myself get back in the 200s. It was a slooooow battle out. It’s been a slooooow battle these past 6 months even trying to get in the 180s. But progress is progress. I’m doing it in a healthy and maintainable way. Slowly, but surely!

I think this new job will lower my stress level and making losing weight easier. Even since early June when I accepted my new job I’ve found that it’s been easier to lose weight.

Come on 180ssssss!

I’m thinking about doing the Beachbody 3 day refresh. New job, new house to-be, I feel like I could use a body reset too. Thoughts?

WIW

Last week: 193.2

This week: 191.2

Change: -2

BOOM! Although I didn’t need the scale to tell me that my body is changing, I can see it. My stomach is flatter and clothes are fitting better. However I do enjoy when the scale confirms when I can notice.

So a few weeks ago if you recall I reduced my “eating window”  after taking a metabolic survey that said me eating small meals between ~8am-8pm was impacting my metabolism and fat/carb burning. I have been surprised how easy it’s been for me to wait until ~10:30am to eat. I might have a brief hunger pang in the morning, but I think it was more my brain than my stomach. I’m eating “breakfast” at 10:30am, then lunch around 1:30pm, and then dinner around 8pm.

Also I’m now ~2months into Blue Apron which has really helped me with portion control and not having as much “random” food in the house. Plus I look forward to eating my Blue Apron meals and don’t want to spoil my appetite by snacking.

WIW (delayed)

I did all of these on Wednesday, but just didn’t have time to post until now.

WIW

2 weeks ago: 194.9

This week: 192.9

I want to be back in the 180s so bad and I know I’m on track. Once I get into the 180s I want to maintain there. I am happy in the 180s, but still working out and eating right without overdoing it. I’ve been in the 170s twice (briefly) and my life was centered around running and working out. I love running and working out, but I don’t want it to consume me.

I had a really good chat with my friend C over the weekend. We’ve shared our ups and downs with weight and she said “this is where my body wants to be and I’m accepting that.” She said in order to be at an “ideal” weight, she had to obsess over it. Obsessing over food and working out takes the JOY out of it. As we’ve all learned this week from Chewbacca mom, we need the simple joys in life.
